What do you think this is worth?

More like £27.50... The £210 one was a really good deal because in the description all the right things had been done by the previous owner over the years. A brand new samsung cell replacement battery would double that price to £429

Is anyone offering an e-bike with type approval and throttle?

    Like a 0.8 € cent full tank every 100 km :p Sorry couldn't resist.

What's the Smart e-bike really like...

You will have to get used to Ergon pedals that is for sure. I think my ergotecs might be even bigger. It gets you back to good cornering habits - inside pedal up, outside pedal down which also helps with balance. But being able to wear jandals on your bike in the summer is priceless when you are...

Is anyone offering an e-bike with type approval and throttle?

In France you need what is called a BSR (AM) licence if you were born after 1988 and are over 14 years old. You can't get one if you have been convicted several times for drunk driving En cas de suspension, d'invalidation ou d'annulation du permis de conduire En cas d'invalidation, de...

Is anyone offering an e-bike with type approval and throttle?

With the climate here the helmet is the big show stopper for me. You cannot pedal with a motorbike helmet on your head especially when it is 36°C... You want to be able to pedal: - to get a minimum amount of exercise, it is a bike after all - to increase range Registration and insurance are...

Is anyone offering an e-bike with type approval and throttle?

Depends on which country you are in. Some countries allow off the line acceleration to 6 kph. This IS legal in France as long as it only works while the pedals are turning.

What do you think this is worth?

24 V batteries are a lot cheaper than they were in 2010... Great project bike. There are two bidders with automatic bids and they didn't kick in when the last bidder went to £164 sooooo... I think £250 buys it

    New tyres. Cool or weird?

Yep works! For those with a French language handicap "bof" is a non committing neither yes nor no reply. Very handy, got me out of some very awkward situations but careful can get you in hot water with members of the opposite sex looking for commitment!

    New tyres. Cool or weird?

They suit some frame styles and colours. A nice dark bronze or a copper coloured frame really set them off. And the modern retro style frames or the cruiser frames suit them well. On that bike as we say in France bof...

Finally made up my mind and ordered a bike

I managed to get in finally by fibbing that I was in the UK... Very nice bike, just the style I like except for the battery on the rack. The price is right, a very good deal for such a well equipped bike. As for the battery if I was the lucky devil getting the bike I would just take it off...

    Is this possible?

That seems pretty normal for a three year old battery. It isn't the number of miles it has done it is the time since it was made - as flecc said a battery ages even when not in use.

What's the Smart e-bike really like...

I dream about these forks at night. 40mm travel which is more than enough for road use and (drumroll...) Weight: approx. 1.200 g (incl. steerer) http://www.rosebikes.com/article/rst-m-7-single-shock-28700-c-suspension-fork/aid:399514 read the critics - not strong enough for disk brakes. Should...

My ignored member button click went off as soon as the VERY rude member started ranting on about other members riding cheap Chinese made e-bikes and not knowing what a real designer e-bike was like. I think TVRM also hinted that if one couldn't afford a real designer e-bike one had no place...

Which is more ethical - Woosh or Cyclotrocity?

As soon as I get some spare cash I am going to upgrade my controller. I have thought of using the 20 A controller from a 09 bottle battery (hence my request in the classifieds here) and turning down the Amps via the LCD to 16-17 A. From the photos I have seen it seems sealed enough to screw to...

    Is this possible?

A boat on the ocean I am presuming? This could be why you battery has gone bad, salt charged air will kill a battery very quickly. You seem to be saying the battery is showing signs of decay is that external signs? If so I would carefully dispose of it ASAP.

Recommended Chain upgrade for Kudos Duke.

I agree, I had problems after 1000km with the bulk pack cheapest KMC my next chain will be a high end one.

Which is more ethical - Woosh or Cyclotrocity?

You get to choose the parts you want/need when you build your own. I got a free bike and since then I have spent 1000€ converting it - motor and battery were 686€ of that amount. A second free bike permitted upgrading the transmission and the rear brakes. If I wanted to buy a hub motor bike with...

What advance in bicycle technology has impressed you the most?

I beg your pardon? What do you mean by "disintegrate rapidly"? I have not owned a car that was as well built nor as safe as a Smart FourTwo. Economical, nippy, even great out of town on the road. Thanks to its security features I walked away from multiple (forgot to count at the time I was...
