And red! For your inner Ferrari... The problem is finding a distributor. Does Amazon have a free return if not satisfied clause? The LBS has Casco helmets in stock so I will be able to try that one when he gets it.

How to do bike concept/prototype testing?

cwah I have been following with interest your threads here and on ES. If I understand correctly you want a tiny when folded bike to stock in your apartment and with large carrying capacity including passenger. Great! No problem so far. Then it has to be able to blast of the line at green light...

I rubbish non full face helmets because they are not as safe as full face ones. I have been in contact with injured cyclists and a lot of them had broken noses. I even shared an emergency room with one when I had my MB accident. Helmets give a false sense of security. Even I who should know...

Higher up in this thread I posted the short list of my choices for a future helmet. Because of the law I have to wear one on many of my rides. You don't get to try before you buy and at 100+ € a pop it is a very complicated decision to make when on a shoestring budget like mine. Some good...

    Spare Inner Tube Advice

I would also mount one of these tubes if I choose to go the way of a hub gear on my future build. Having seen the videos I do not want to be messing with fiddly gear change cables on the dark rainy night these kind of things happen... Schwalbe rim tape and tubes plus Michelin puncture resistant...

I carry a small adjustable spanner for the wheel nut and as a counter spanner where needed. The hole in the handle is handy for increasing leverage too.

Discomfort hence distraction is in my view a risk increasing factor. Lifting my hand off the bar to try and find a more comfortable position for the helmet at the wrong time could very well be the cause of an accident.

    Spare Inner Tube Advice

Home is where your heart is. My entire adult life has been lived in Europe including a brief stint on the other side of the chunnel. But I have an accent whatever language I speak and a passport. The French have a very confused notion about "nationality" and "citizenship" so I haven't asked for...

It isn't the same thing, not the same type of vehicle. I have been wearing a seatbelt since before it was a legal requirement, it there was one fitted in the car I put it on (since 1972 ish). I wear a full face helmet when on a motorbike or other powered two wheel vehicle. I have had serious car...

29er+ conversion kit. Range required 45 miles

On the road if I pedal a wee bit harder and don't need to break any speed records to catch trains or whatever I get that range from 10.4 A battery using assistance up to maximum 3 out of 5. The solar panel will make you look green :D

You will need some kind of shock absorber in your cages. I worry about soldered connections breaking with the kind of vibrations you have on forks. I would recommend a rear wheel hub motor and a 15A downtube battery which will do the there and back again distance no sweat.

    Of course I f...d up

Moving from 42 -> 48 has raised my average speed by 4-5 kph and not increased battery use. This is with a hub motor of course. I also use the full range of gears except for the 34 tooth granny "get me home over the hills just in case" gear. I am currently looking at 50-39 cranksets...

I am looking for one that is comfortable and which fits at the moment but I will only wear it when I have to - on the other side of the border on the open road. If I was to take up trail riding I would consider one because of low hanging branches. This one comes out in February, has a visor (I...
