    Brexit, for once some facts.

No need for that sort of response. I wasn't guessing, Brexiters have made their views very clear and continue to do so daily in the media. My post that kicked this off was perfectly clear, but to make it more clear: I quoted Frank Field's statement in that post in which he made his anti EU...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Once again, I was speaking of the Brexiter view of total sovereignty which appears to include trade agreements, not my view at all. However, the UK parliament cannot just refuse to accept what it has signed up to without serious consequences, and that's not just trade agreements. There's UN...

Would you leave your electric bike at a station all day

There's been three mentioning this that I can remember, here's one link. .

    Helmets - again!

Ratios of 2016 pedestrian to cyclists deaths: Pedestrians: 0.00075% of pedestrians. Cyclists: 0.005% of cyclists population. Ergo cyclists 6.7 times more likely to die during their activity. But of course both activities are very safe. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Agreed it doesn't make sense, I was speaking of the Brexiter's view of sovereignty where they think we can have total control of everything, impossible in this global world for a trading nation. We are all subject to WTO rules and UN standards, in the EU we have to abide by their trading...

Would you leave your electric bike at a station all day

As Neale says, most of Surrey is a relatively low crime area. .

That's not sense, quite the opposite. As Woosh had detailed, we have to implement border controls if we wish to continue trading. Like too many Brexiters Frank Field is losing sight of reality. Eventually they'll all have to wake up and realise that there can be no sovereignty for a trading...

No, that was a genuine need, though better dealt with by a minor injuries unit if one was available. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Yes, because the savings elsewhere will reduce others employed. The present NHS is appallingly inefficient with many sometimes very expensive people often underemployed as a result. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

As it is here on this side of the channel for many. I spent the last 17 years of my working life struggling to deal with it in UK businesses and civil administrations. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

We already have those in out present inefficient system, an army of pen pushers trying to cope against the tide of excess demand. And they already administer a charging system for all the foreigners using the NHS. So nobody extra, just a change in what they work with. .

All those agreed. Not necessarily, the French system for example only charges those who can afford a charge, and then only 20% of the cost. So it doesn't cause any distress but does deter unnecessary or avoidable demand. .

Fine, but do you have a solution for the escalating costs of a "free" system that have no upper limit? Part payments introduce a control to help establish limits that a country can afford. They also greatly improve service speed. .

I'm also in favour of a part paying system to help overcome the problems. That would also help control the gross abuse of A & E that's overloading units with minor ailments we always used to deal with ourselves. .

Old powacycle milan 2 controller and motor

Shouldn't be, Powacycle models typically adhered to the 15 mph assist limit so it should reach that ok. .

Nobody has answers that are universally acceptable, certainly not me. We stumble along with such as NICE who decide what drugs we can afford while Health Trusts decide what they can spend on capital equipment and buildings. The one thing we do know is that we can't afford everything and never...

Old powacycle milan 2 controller and motor

I don't know who made the motors, but Powacycle gave mixed messages about their rating. For a long time saying they were 180 watt, they later claimed a change to 200 watts and have at other times said 250 watts, so anyone's guess. Possibly best not to push it too far with the choice of...

    Sheds for ebikes

As a flat dweller looking at them they really can get a bit exotic! I can imagine people even naming them like they name their houses with such as Dunroaming and Mon Repos. What could one name a shed? Storeville maybe? :) .

Yes they are one-off expenditures, since in each location the environmental results last for years, even centuries. Give the money to hospitals or schools and next week or month they'll need more. Institutions like that have to have restraints, sometimes even at the cost of lives however...
