Pintxo (apparently the plural does not take an "s") and vino del año for me any day! I did experiment with energy food when I did a few days walking on the Way of Saint James a while back. Bread and water only during the day with a dash of fresh orange juice and a pinch of salt in the water...

    Fast Legal Bike

Another motorist kindly looked at his speedo for me yesterday. I was pedaling briskly down a small (2%) hill when I heard "putain il est a plus de 40 ce con!" coming from a truck window as he passed me...:D (yes that is 40 kph not mph) Tony

Yep the only way it would work for a lot of people would be motor in the front wheel which with quick release would solve two problems: indoor charging and theft. Concerning the target demographic I think that they are only aiming at short (flat) inner city commutes. As for the unsprung weight...

I agree if: - Make it user servicable, let me swap out the battery if, when, however etc... - price it competively with a separate battery and motor conversion kit See how your example looks like the GoSwiss drive, at least they are copying attractive industrial design  Tony

Ah but you aren't following flecc! The goal isn't customer dollars it is all about getting investment dollars, living like kings while they last and then saying "oh too bad our wonderful idea flopped" to the stupid investors without clues who don't know that people have been inventing the wheel...

E-Bikeshop charge ahead with Gocycle G2 in the South of England

I looked at that bike a while back and will buy one in a heartbeat - as soon as I win the lotto... Fits my program perfectly: fold it, put in its bag and take it on the bus down to the Topo station then on the train down into Spain. Last train back to Hendaye and whip it out for the 11km ride...

Kudos Eiger NuVinci now £1265 and Derailleur now only £799

Kit one is what I'm going to buy - 344€ from a guy in Marseille which makes it about 200€ cheaper than the bafang kit here. The controller is zip tied behind the seat down tube which is fine with me. Tony

    Gazelle C7 versus Raleigh Forge

Can I just toss in "unsprung weight", "weight distribution", "doesn't get so hot on steep hills" and you can't drive a Rohloff with a hub motor. Yes you can have a Rohloff on the back and a hub motor on the front but why not use the motor to drive the gears. Many reasons why a mid motor makes...

    Fast Legal Bike

I am guessing there were some bumps in that road, it looked and felt flat back then (no more than 1 or 1.5%). The bike had been in the Tour de France in the '60s, bought at the after Tour sale by my father in law, lovely piece of kit, he had another even better one... Thanks to your post I am...

    Fast Legal Bike

I was extrapolating that s-pedelecs do live up to the marketing hype and that a motor of over 500W + 150W of fit rider were on tap. And with pedalling in the right gear, uphill speeds up to maximum assisted speed should be attainable WOT? There are very few road frame s-pedelecs on the market I...

    Fast Legal Bike

No I don't think so. Even Lance Armstrong can't do 45 kph up steep hills and we now know what kind of petrol he is running on... A reasonably fit rider on an adequate s-pedelec should be able to maintain speeds comparable to a road bike, it all depends on gearing. Think of all the energy you...

Has anyone tried the Cratoni Vigor s-pedelec helmet? 700-800 grams (sorry flecc...) is less than half the weight of my Bell motorcycle helmet which is very light and comfy (on a motorbike). Tony
