    Brexit, for once some facts.

No it didn't, it agreed our government's findings, which doesn't confirm anything at all. All the government announcements have been nothing other than innuendo with no proofs of results. So the OPCW have merely reinforced the innuendo. The one tangible thing we do know due to a scientist's...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

An important point. David Cameron asked parliament for permission to take action against Syria. Parliament refused to sanction it. No means no, does it not? Surely it must go back to parliament before any action since it stands at No at present? .

And now further confirmation of what I posted, that Putin would face down the West over Syria. Trump has tweeted that a raid could be very soon, or not soon at all. Theresa May has said that any action will need very careful thought first. Simple fact, they are both scared. Hopefully sense...

Disagree, see my post above. They didn't even say it was Novichok or indicate where it might have come from, some confirmation! .

Bunkum: "The OPCW does identify the toxic chemical by its complex formula but only in the classified report that has not been made public." Things are only hidden when there is something to hide, and they haven't even said it was Novichok. Shows the OPCW or its press office is a part of the...

How long do Kalkhoff take to replace engines?

Fortunately the majority of geared hub motor e-bikes on our UK market. Plenty of examples on the websites of Woosh, Kudos, Oxygen, Juicy etc. The Japanese Dapu hub motors on some Wisper models are also very good. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

That was its proper name for centuries. It was only changed from the Ministry of War to Ministry of Defence around 1904, just as we conceived the idea of propaganda which was first used in the first World War. However, the government department that administered the army continued to be called...

    When to give way..

Unfortunately that's what many drivers think of cyclists who take command of narrow roads or lanes for safety. They very wrongly regard a bicycle as an inferior road vehicle with less rights than larger motor vehicles. Of course if they bothered to read the Hignway Code they'd soon realise how...

    German e-bike market success

So long as not by ex SAAB engineers. Car company failed and gone, their type 400 jet fighter always fatally attracted to the earth at speed. Volvo are owned by Geely Holdings of China, so any e-bike from them would be Chinese anyway. And one from IKEA we'd have to put together first, once...

Uber buys the JUMP dockless ebikeshare company

Good thing, that needs sorting. Can't see many car owners doing that, lifting heavy hire bikes onto roofs. They certainly wouldn't lift these onto roofs! :D .

    When to give way..

I tend to forget that, since I only ever ride with a good mirror and always use it. Means I have no bother anticipating and giving way. Link 1 Link 2 .

    When to give way..

The van driver should have hung back, but drivers often don't expect a bike to be going as fast as we often do on our e-bikes, so think they'll get well past before turning. You were lucky there though that someone was paying attention in the van. Personally I always play safe and give way to...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I agree that option 2 is the sensible one, and correctly handled would not result in any more gassings etc. I've just been listening to one of the experts observing how stupid we were back in 2011 to go against Bashir Assad in our delusions of there being an Arab Spring (that last phrase my...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Remember what I said back in post 29618: However, I believe Putin would face them down over Syria. He isn't going to just give up his one position of strength in the Middle East. He's shown himself to be a master of the high stakes game and could scare the West over this issue if they push too...

chainset is 46 tooth likely to help compared with a 52

That 200% range isn't enough for hills, 300% would be much better. I think your bike is more likely to have a multi-sprocket freewheel than a cassette, if so that's easily changed for one with a wider range if available in six speed, or a Megarange six speed model to give one much larger...

    German e-bike market success

I've owned two Ezee models, both Chinese made hub motor e-bikes, one of them for twelve years since 2006. I don't know its total mileage having stopped keeping records long ago, but its probably well over 10,000 miles. In one new type battery test for the manufacturer I covered 3784 miles in...

How long do Kalkhoff take to replace engines?

Definitely very much better than the Impulse 2 units, but they have had the odd faults. That's true across the board for crank motor units though, the best reliability now is with quality hub motors like the Bafang ones. That's the reverse of the situation well over a decade ago. .

How long do Kalkhoff take to replace engines?

The bikes are ok, but you need to avoid the troublesome Impulse units, particularly the Impulse 2, and possibly its successor, the Evo. Kalkhoffs are also made with Bosch units and have used other motors that are generally ok. .
