you are just as welcome to make your point as anyone else. I would like EEA membership please.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

we are still split roughly in the middle regarding brexit. There are indications that brexit may be reversed in a new referendum but I don't think many people have changed their mind. In order to get out of limbo land, we need a more clear cut win, I reckon 60/40 would do it. Anything less clear...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

a four-page draft of the backstop proposal for customs arrangement after brexit circulated to ministers is described as a "Hotel California" scenario where the UK never fully leaves the EU. Last thing I remember, I was Running for the door I had to find the passage back to the place I was...

nothing wrong with that. Personal reasons, family, business etc. All that and politics are not necessarily predictable nor directly linked.

About to take the plunge... final advice please

if you like the Oxygen, the BPM has grunt but less refined. The 48V SWX02 kit is much more like it, but with more torque than both the Oxygen and the BPM.

France has a big civil service. Maybe that helps.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

by itself, the will of the people is a double edged sword and may be very fickled. A second referendum is not against 'the will of the people' and no one knows what 'the will of the people' is going to be. whereas words like 'brexidiot' are clearly used to insult.

it's a vote, nobody is thick or votes wrongly at the time for exercising their rights. Belonging to a social stratum has nothing to do with intelligence. Everybody is entitled to changing their mind at anytime for whatever reason.

    New Shimano products

The industry sees e-bikes as a luxury item, not a mean of transport. You have parallels: QLED TV with 2000 'nits' instead of just HDTV. gear shifting has never been an issue before the introduction of the Bosch CD bikes. if you want simple, buy a geared hub bikes.

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

After stocks in the pipelines are sold, it will stop a lot of small companies selling Chinese e-bikes. The first problem is the continuation of existing products. You can't just ask another factory in Taiwan to make the same bikes you got from China. You will have to line up a whole new...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

even with a trade deal, the rule of origin still applies, components made in the UK cannot count as EU origin. Only retaining our membership of the Single Market will protect jobs. EEA is the only option. The longer TM holds on to her stupid red lines and hides their cost, the more brexit voters...

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

the point I made is that when the EU determined the 6% duty rate on e-bike, it was and still is a fair rate, taken into account all the main ingredients of an e-bike. The anti-dumping duty on regular bikes is in place since 1993, 25 years ago. If there is a distortion, then the EU will simply...

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

what would you think if your company is threatened with the theoretical 189% anti-dumping duty? even if you take it with a pinch of salt, you would be irresponsible not to worry about this potential threat. Would you place more orders? no, you can't unless you have Elon Musk as your backer. So...

they are taxed as bicycle and electronics and it is consistent at the time the EU set it up. The 6% rate is weighted against the average value of various components. It's not a favour given to e-bikes against regular bikes. There is no market distortion: companies producing e-bikes in the EU...

    Yosepower hub kits.

if your suppliers operate a bonded warehouse, the goods held inside is considered free port status, still outside the EU, not duty and tax paid. DHL can pick the goods from there and send to you, in which case, you are considered as a trade customer and have to pay import duty, VAT and import...

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

I disagree. The anti-dumping action benefits very few (Accell, Pon, Prophete, Bosch) and hurt tens of millions of consumers. the fact that EU production is concentrated in just a few very large companies speaks volume. The current 6% duty on e-bikes is already fair, it takes into account that...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

we only need to stay in the Single Market and VAT area. Joining the EEA like Norway is the way to keep us in the SM without giving in to EU self marketing. Italy should do same, leave the EU and join the EEA.
