    Brexit, for once some facts.

When Hatti was on BBC Essex last week, she was pitched against another lady who runs a tapas bar in Chemsford. Hatti explained by way of her own example that the Pound has been affected by brexit, pushing up her prices between 12% and 15%, her exports will also be hurt by brexit because of...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

there is an article in today's the Guardian about the tories. Until they work out what their party really stands for, Margaret Thatcher's or John Major's convervatism, then their petty squabbles will continue while TM is the only possible choice for leader...

    Raleigh Stonefly Conversion?

the OP weighs only 80kg and he has only short hills, 48V seems overkill to me but I accept that the 48V kit pulls a lot more than the XF07. http://wooshbikes.co.uk/?hubkits#swx02-48v-kit

    Raleigh Stonefly Conversion?

You are not heavy, I think the XF07 kit with 13AH or 17AH HL battery will do the job. The higher capacity battery gives extra range (about 60 miles) and does not make the bike more torquey. http://wooshbikes.co.uk/cart/#/product/uid-192-xf07rkit-13ah/xf07-rear-hub-kit-with-13ah-battery Potential...

    Speed Sensor? Torque Sensor?

I learned something new today. A potential supplier mentioned their 'Inertial cruise system'. Above a set speed, if the user stops pedaling, the bike will maintain its current speed until the user decides to brake or start pedaling again. What do you think of it?

Bike stopped working going up a hill

    9-Speed Freewheel

I fitted the one I had some weeks back, only keep 8-speed DNP as stock item. The DNP has the same stack height as a Shimano cassette so no problem there. I try to check the stack height next time when I get one 9-speed freewheel.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I read Leon Uris' Exodus years ago. That made a big impression on me. I have always felt for the refugees and the displaced, israelites and Palestinians included. Palestinians and Israelites are cousins if not brothers. May they live peacefully together one day as one country.

I am not defending Israel - but there is no possible solution to the conflict in Palestine until all neighbouring countries and Palestinians accept the right of Israel to existence.

    Intermittent power loss when peddling

check your magnet disc. Mud may get trapped between the disc and the sensor head. If you don't know where it is, it's on the drive side, between the chain ring and the frame. It needs to be close to the pedal sensor head and not touch anything, spin in sync with your cranks. If your sensor head...

    9-Speed Freewheel

thanks Planemo. I wasn't fully awake when I posted the picture! From the customer support's point of view, replacing a cassette mount on the motor is a messy business, I would have to retrieve the motor wheel, whereas replacing an 8/9/10-speed freewheel is quick, cheap and much less stressful.

20 mile commute on an Electric Mountain Bike...

you may shave a bit with an e-bike but the main benefit is to arrive pink, not red and sweaty. I reckon on flat-ish roads, the quickest time is with a lightweight road e-bike.
