    we were talking about the legality of 48V in the context of EN15194. Conti does not have any problem with 48V. May be we should all ride 48V bikes!

    I agree however, the NuVinci in the Conti motor is placed at the chainring, the torque on it should be less than half of that placed on a gearbox at rear wheel. I would have thought a modified Nuvinci could have replaced the internal belt drive reduction gearbox and saved a bit of weight.

    they claim their software is 99.97% accurate, so I should sleep easy.

    I would have thought that CVT is particularly good for mid drive motors, you can maintain motor output during ratio shifts. A Rohlhoff would necessitate easing off on power before and during gear shifts.

    check the voltage display on your LCD. 37V should show as 3 bars on a 5 bar display. if the voltage on your LCD shows full (5 out of 5) then you need to replace the battery in your voltmeter.

    recheck the setting of your Volt meter. If you select AC instead of DC, you'll get a wrong reading. Check also the output voltage of youur battery against the number of bars on your LCD to confirm the reading on your voltmeter.
