Why isn't this PAS more common?

May be you just need to ask. I've been supplying kits with left side PAS for two years. http://wooshbikes.co.uk/?hubkits

Why isn't this PAS more common?

they are usually called left side PAS because they fit to the left side cup of the bottom bracket, and quite common. This one is thinner, as fitted to the Woosh Zephyr-2017

    Brexit, for once some facts.

however small the winning margin was, it was subjected to parliament's interpretation. As our parliament is still dominated by the conservative party which favours brexit, so the brexiters won the referendum. what is dishonest is the whip system in parliament.

    Recommend a stepthrough with throttle?

Keep turning the pedal is more difficult when you are not so young. I had a long conversation yesterday with a customer who bought recently a Woosh Petite for his wife, both are in their 70s. The issue is the cadence of the Petite (which has 24 x 1.95 tyres) is 65 rpm for 15mph, legal assist...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

interesting poll from YouGov on attitude of our neighbours on brexit. This poll was done in August, before the no deal brexit comes to the front page. There were still more brexiters than remainers in the UK according to their poll. Who knows, with the prospect that air travels may be grounded...

    Recommend a stepthrough with throttle?

The 705 has both cadence sensor and torque sensor, and a throttle. If you select the torque sensor, the harder you pedal, the more power you get from the motor. If you ride with the cadence sensor, you can pedal as much or as little as you like, the power of the motor is then set by the assist...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I would have thought that the damaging change was and still is in the education system. The UK discarded traditional teaching methods, children sit around round tables facing each other to play together instead of in rows, facing the teachers and learn in silence. Course subjects move away from...

    China's tiny electric car

The Chinese factory will pay for all of that. You'll get a CoC with type approval with the vehicle. You pay registration fees, number plates and insurance. I think VED is nil.

    Recommend a stepthrough with throttle?

There have been a couple of long threads about what is allowed and what not. there are essentially two provisos: 1. the customer can have a throttle fitted. Indeed, all kits can have a full acting throttle, even twist and go, because it is put in place by the customers, not the manufacturers...

    What is this called

I think d8veh has a point. On my Aspen where you have a blue light switch on the 790 LED panel, there is a transistor inside the 790 that switches the battery on to power the lights at 40V.

You may do well on duty if you go with this. Duty on motor, LCD, cableset and controller: 0%, on Lithium ion battery (8507600060): 2.7% You pay more on frames and wheel assemblies but overall, you would pay less duty importing parts for assembling in the EU.
