    Woosh Big Bear - Impressions

you can take the battery out as often as you like, but do put a bit of grease on the battery's terminals from time to time to protect them against corrosion. Any grease will do. I tend to use white Lithium grease or all moving parts of the bike. The danger is forgetting to lock the battery after...

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

perhaps but probably not 'made in the UK' - the UK contents is tiny, about 5 hours of labour.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I am pretty certain that you can continue selling your compressors to EU customers more or less as before. Your compressors are certified to EU standard, therefore can be sold into EU countries and the UK. They may attract extra duty that your customers will have to pay if sold to EU customers...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

KudosDave's example is not typical. He assumes that after brexit, we are not participating in the EU customs union and it concerns some special parts that attracted anti-dumping levy. My guess is a hard brexit will bring in more tax imcome to the Treasury than now and inflation will shoot up to...

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

I don't think assembling e-bikes in the UK would add more than £50-£75 to a bike. All the parts, except the frame, would attract less duty on import to start with. The alloy frame accounts for about £35, anti-dumping levy on the frame is not that significant. If Batribike cut £500 off their...

you need to factor in customers' clumsiness. They may continue to pedal or push on the throttle, the chain may come off while they try to brake etc The torque sensor does not have this sort of issues.

many people don't need all those sensors but if you don't put them on your factory made bikes, you may come to regret that decision if later on, it lands you in Court. There is also a fundamental issue with derestriction on CD bikes. It's a fact of life, no matter how hard you try, some people...

Bikes with torque sensor don't need brake sensors, throttle, temperature sensor etc. You end up with a bike simpler to build and maintain. This is the way for Chinese bikes to compete on the mid-range against German bikes.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

It's a win, win, lose situation. The losers are of course PSA's employees in France. So much so that Mr N. Sazrkozy said about the factory in the Czech republic (TPCA, Toyota, Peugeot, Czech Automobile): "I want us to stop the relocation ... To create a factory in India to sell Renault in India...

I am not sure either. As investment, the EU is basically a traditional partnership with unlimited liability. It was a good investment in the early years, from 1957 to 2004 but since the enlargement in 2004 when 10 new countries join the EU: Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

perhaps not, but I think not yet and we can always rejoin if the USE proves to be a success. We can see the huge social problems in the USA, greater inequality in health, education, career prospect and racism. Would the USE be the model in the 21st century of how to be a superpower and not to be...

To me, economics is more important than party politics. I have basically more faith and respect for economists than politicians. Good economics benefits all, good politics benefits only people who agree with it.

Why is it wrong to talk about bills, income and trade? We are leaving the EU so can only watch on the sideline and wish them the best of luck.

We like our 'knowledge economy' - we prefer keeping our fingers away from workshop grease and shop keeping, buying and selling to producing.

of course they do, and prosper after joining. In a business sense, the EU is a Ponzi investment scheme. Not all Ponzi schemes will fail, even the one run by Bernie Madoff had enough assets to repay the investors. The EU is the grandest and most successful Ponzi scheme in the world. By asking the...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

When 6 (1957) became 7 (1973), their budget was small and the scheme was seen as encouraging. Then they invited Greece to join (1981), promising lots of money. Money that wasn't there, just promises. That fact is important. The success of Greece joining attracted Spain and Portugal (1986) on...

that's the problem in a nutshell. They are not all elected by British people, and yet, they decide on so many aspects of our lives. The brexiters usually charge the EU administration with the word 'corrupt'. Albeit unjustified when applied to the whole, but is difficult to dismiss in examples.
