It doesn't seem so according to this extract from David's article: Unlike the standard Cycle to Work scheme, where employees have to pay a hefty fee to own the bike, the cost of ownership with GCI is just £1. .

Are Cyclotricity 500W kits really road legal?

Technically they are ebikes, i.e. electric powered bikes. They aren't electric assist bikes, i.e. pedelecs. EAPC is the bureaucracy free legal form, Electric Assist Pedal Cycles. We are wrong when we refer to our legal pedelecs as e-bikes, creating the confusion. . .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I agree with the other posters, we shouldn't do anything. In part because we in the west made complete fools of ourselves in the first instance by siding with the rebels. The fact is the rebels were terrorists trying to overthrow a legitimate state government and no other government should...

Are Cyclotricity 500W kits really road legal?

I suppose it's just not a big enough issue. If there were a million on the roads I'm sure we'd see the authorities crack down hard. .

Are Cyclotricity 500W kits really road legal?

It's because they aren't doing anything illegal, there is no law against selling e-bikes that don't conform to the law. It's similar to the position with mini-motos, they can never be legally used in public but can freely be sold. The offence is only in the usage, riding an illegal vehicle on...

Are Cyclotricity 500W kits really road legal?

There seems to be a distinction on this point. The DfT have emphatically said that an off-road switch is definitely illegal. However there are many e-bikes from major manufacturers which can have their maximum assist speed raised by a setting in the LCD control. This ability seems to have...

Being a drill motor it's probably brushed and brush arcing produces ozone that can be smelt even in free air. In an enclosed space it will accumulate and may not mean the motor is on its way out yet. .

How many times do I have to ask you not to include me when I shouldn't be included Zlatan? I have never claimed that the EU has prevented war. Nor have I made claims about the EU's performance, being well aware of its numerous faults. What I have done on more than one occasion is say why I...

If possible in your area, support and vote for those who opposed being taken out of the EU. You may have a Liberal candidate for example. If not, don't vote, writing "none of the above" on your ballot form. There will be enough of those and Liberal votes for whoever gets in to take notice. .

Woosh said: ↑ Are you sure? The sun is supposed to turn itself into a red giant star in about 5 bn years and the earth is going to be burnt into ashes. I'm sure the human race will have achieved that end for earth long before 5 billion years have elapsed. We just can't resist fiddling. .

Agreed under current circumstances, but section 3 of article 50 (copied below) gives the EU a loophole enabling an immediate consideration of article 49, i.e. the treaties no longer applying to us. 3. The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force...
