36V is when the battery is 50% charged. 41.5V is when it is 100% full. 31V is when it's switched off by the BMS. For Volusia's Rio, his battery's voltage will drop in straight line with the miles travelled. He should get 40 miles out of the 13AH battery.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

one rare time I took a peek at the Express, all because it says something about the divorce negotiation may last beyond 2019. http://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/822196/Brexit-news-key-Juncker-aide-swipe-unprepared-British-negotiating-team There is a poll on the page: Will the UK get what...

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

I agree. The rider puts in 25%, the motor/battery 75% or less. You need to be pretty athletic to squeeze the last pip out of a Bosch CX.

I get regularly aggressively questioned by some members and never worry about that. manufacturers benefit from aggressive questioning.

inunell only makes the batteries and chargers. He does not have to apply for EN15194.

I have not looked into this but I assume that it's possible to submit a test bike with a battery 50% charged.

you would need to have a generator fitted to the back wheel. One that is capable of generating 300W-500W will probably weigh more than 2kgs. Would you want one on your bike?

Even flattish routes have small sections where you go up and others where you go down. When you can go down without braking, your potential energy is converted to kinetic energy, reducing battery consumption by the same amount that you expended to go up, ie if you don't brake at all in a whole...

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

we discuss theoretically of course. yes, CD bikes will always have a little advantage when you go on very steep gradients but anything below 15%, the Q128H will match the CX. I think the CX will burn 600W+ if you push it hard enough. If you want to buy one of them, follow the link to...

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

I have the same $114 Q128H kit that d8veh talked about in several threads. It represents the modern rear geared hub: https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-kit/776-q128h-48v800w-rear-driving-e-bike-motor-wheel-ebike-kit.html yes, it's not a mistake, it's £100 wheel plus freight and VAT. The full kit...

    Rupert1 climbed straight up, the energy required in his case is E = mgh = 110 * 9.98 * 800 / 3600 + 12 * 6 WH = 316WH In my estimation, his speed is around 7mph, motor efficiency is 65%. The battery consumption is = 110 * 9.98 * 800 / (3600 * 0.65) + 6 * 6 WH = 411WH If he climbed the...

Review Woosh Rio MTB Review/Initial Impressions

after charge, the voltage tends to stabilize after 10 minutes at 41.5V plus a small calibration difference. The battery on Volusia's Rio should be good for 40 mile range on ordinary flattish roads. Divide 10V (for a full charge) into 40 miles for this bike, you get 0.25V drop per mile. Other...

you would be surprised that most of the battery's capacity is burnt gaining elevation. On my estimate, someone of my age group and fitness would spend an hour climbing that 6 miles col. the SWX02 motor on the Bermuda would run at about 65% efficiency. This route is perfect for a crank drive bike...

there is a label on the battery. If it says 15AH then it's Samsung 18650-29E. If it says 14.5AH then it's Panasonic 18650-PF Both have 15AH although the PF packs are labelled 14.5AH. When fully charged, you get the same 540WH from either. Both are 10S5P arrays. The battery usage to climb Col...

Damian, You never have too much torque on a fat bike, so it's important to know how much torque you can have on your fat bike. You should ask the suppliers for the maximum torque of their motor. This is the specs of the G06, maximum torque: a massive 80NM...

Volusia, could you check the voltage after the charging is finished? it should read 41.5V to 41.7V. Check also the voltage after 10 miles, it should read 39V or close to. After 20 miles, it should read 36.5V After 30 miles, it should read 34V. After 40 miles, it should read 31.5V. The general...
