    Brexit, for once some facts.

She certainly did, I'm baffled at the many who think hers was a good speech. It was merely a standard political con, telling her audience what they wanted to hear, regardless of how impractical her proposals were. As one of the mainland EU representatives has just said, any deal the UK gets...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Surely that's the reverse of the truth. The English and to a fair extent the Welsh want to cling onto the Britain that they understand. Clearly they fear any prospect of a change into being part of a large country called Europe. N.B. Crossed with OG's post expressing the same sentiment. .

Except for him getting muddled again and calling KTM Kiwi. N.B. Post crossed with KTM's above. .

And the UK! Both are far short of desirable to each other at present. .

Perhaps not at this moment, but I can envisage the UK rejoining at a future date. N.B. Post crossed with KTM's above. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I did object to their being a referendum on such a complex issue in a parliamentary democracy. But now we've had one anyway I'm not objecting to the vote outcome being carried through, but there are many ways of leaving. The people weren't given any choices on that so it should have reverted...

That's not how our parliamentary democracy works, rubber stamping other's decisions. Parliament should have decided what pattern of departure to negotiate for, not dictator May. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Not quite. I posted that for the EU to achieve the transition to one country of Europe demanded a degree of dictatorship, due to the number of countries involved. Hence the appointed EU Commission, but even they have to consult the EU Parliament and Council to get agreement for their orders. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

There won't be a less ambitious plan ready, and would the EU enter yet another negotiation? I don't think so. But I stand by my post, it was a dictatorial statement of what is to be negotiated for, no prior involvement of our democratic parliament or even the government's own MPs and party. .

"Huge leaps in e-bike battery capacity coming to e-bikes soon"

I'd replace the word "huge" with "improved" to get rid of the hype. The report deliberately understates the existing batteries to make the improvement appear greater. For example quoting 500 charges at present, when the truth is that we already have the better batteries exceeding 1000 charges...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Brexiters objected to the EU on the mistaken grounds that it is undemocratic. But their champion Theresa May is the dictator stating how we will negotiate to leave the EU and what we will negotiate for. No prior consultation with our democratic parliament, no chance for parliament to debate...

How on earth does he get away with this?

The reason there's confusion is due to the DfT (Department for Transport) in the UK. We had fast scooters like the Vespas and Lambrettas, but then they introduced a class of scooter limited to 30 mph and called them mopeds. That was wrong of course, they had no pedals, but it led to many of...

And even worse is that was largely during a period of huge growth in property values, and his is a property empire. .

Maybe two years to negotiate it, then the transitional period probably lasting at least five years. The ardent Brexiters will die of boredom waiting for us to be out of the EU. .

Thanks Tillson. My opinion on the Brexit outcome is entirely and solely based on the facts of the UK record in recent decades. I've taken and will take no notice of other's opinions or forecasts, whether from economists or other experts, politicians, businessmen or public. Whether they...

Has the poor Southern Rail service influenced your Pedelec purchase

And coal, Rolls Royce have successfully run their turbines on pulverised coal. Wasn't a good time to hang out the washing to dry in that area though. :( .

You've extracted two quotes from my posts to illustrate this, both wrongly used. I have for years had a completely consistent view on the two indices and haven't changed that in any way, either currently or previously in this thread. My view, which is shared by economists, is that the FTSE 100...

Choosing a bike for a tall guy (over 6')

A company can choose their marketing model, low margin high volume sales or lower volume high margin. Bikes using the Bosch and other expensive high end crank drives cannot directly compete on price with Chinese sourced models. .

Choosing a bike for a tall guy (over 6')

Wisper and KTM sell through dealers and they have to have a margin to stock and service the bikes. That's why online sales of almost all products are overtaking local retailers' sales. P.S. Post crossed with Woosh reply. .
