Wow Factor BPM Rear Hub Demo

The G06 is really sweet, at very low speed. I can climb kerbs on the Rio fat bike without thinking, even do a figure of 8 on the pavement between the flower tubs in front of our shop. Great motor.

That exemplifies the difficulties that brexit puts the UK importers to. The Pound drops 22% against the US Dollar (from $1.49 to $1.22) and only 9% against the Euro (Eur 1.28 to Eur 1.17). There is also the economic law of gravity. European made bikes are so much more competitive for bikes...

You need to know the correct commodity codes to be sure. In general, there is zero duty on Chinese electronics, Chinese Lithium ion batteries attract 10% duty, 48.5% on the mechanical bikes (at the moment, should drop to 14%-15% in July 2018). Put these items together in an e-bike, the import...

    Hello

You don't need to balance your wheel but you need to true your wheel and check for loosened spokes from time to time. Loosened spokes will break, especially at the rear wheel where the motor puts more stress on them. If you have not done up bicycle wheels before, you can download the Woosh...

RB, we use GXP bottom brackets for similar reasons. About $25. The GXP on the Karoo costs us $35.

Andy corrected the info, the Max Drive bike costs $840 FOB, the Biwu $650 FOB. To translate these prices to street prices, multiply by 1.5 for a ballpark figure. However, most established brands will need to add something to distinguish themselves from the ebayers, mainly to eliminate what they...

Andy, that bike has Tektro hydraulic brakes and Suntour XCM fork. You won't get it for less than $850.

RB, thank you for the comments. Sadly, Bafang charge an awful lot for their kits, the Max Drive is only marginally cheaper than the Shimano.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

If the deal is blocked by one or a few of the EU27, do you think that a second referendum is likely?

I agree with RobF here. These bikes are not cheap. They usually are configured with hydraulic brakes and a half decent suspension fork.

It now seems likely that any deal the UK will have with the EU need to be ratified by 27 member states. Nomura said 'there is room for a correction on disappointment' as the talk progresses, which could send the Pound below $1.20.

I am not convinced that the Max Drive will sell well in the UK. When you think that the average Chinese made e-bike retails at around £1,100, how much do you think the Max Drive bikes will go for? There is also the choice between 36V and 48V. Which system would you go for?

The Bewo spider tool is big and heavy (weighing about 7 kgs). I am sure if they redesign the motor, they'll use bolts.

The BIWU (or Bewo Technology, they like to call themselves) is a good 'un. Their motors are smoother and quieter than the Bafang BBS01. There is always a catch. All CD motors will need re-greasing at some stage, you will then need to remove the chainring to access the gearbox compartment. On...

    Anyone heard from Trex?

We at Woosh have been thinking for quite a while that a formal,or 'proper' presence is needed from now on to represent us here on the Forum. We could not really continue to rely on his contributions. Thank you everyone who shared my feelings that his contributions were generally interesting and...

    Anyone heard from Trex?

Trex does not post any more. He was told off after having a bit of a spat with David Miall.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I don't think duty at the current level (6%) has much effect on manufacturing here. We already have zero duty importing from Taiwan and yet, we don't assemble much. If we have zero duty from China, we'll buy a little more Chinese e-bikes and assemble even less.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The man is an attention seeker. More importantly, the BBC reported that Liam Fox said today that the UK may stay in the EU Custom Union after brexit. That is a welcome news. At least the risk of a hard brexit is averted for now.
