What do you use your ebikes for?

Well, I'm not central London. I'm in the London borough of Bexley. I choose the right pubs in quiet residential areas not high streets. And can generally see the bike. Plus I go out early lol.

    First ever ebike impression

I got one in January . I'm no cyclist, but I've ridden it every day. Sometimes I just go out for half an hour in the evening if I've had a busy day. Novelty still not worn off for me.

What do you use your ebikes for?

Mines a bit of an all rounder. Being a hub drive mtb with throttle. I use it for transport whenever I can. So trips to shops takeaways pubs friends houses. I also like to ride around parks and woods. I've even taken it to a proper mtb trail.

    Intentional hit and run.

Your right Dave and I've seen countless photos of the local signage stating that. But the angry motorists don't care.

    Intentional hit and run.

It's all over the Internet. Setting aside the cowardly act by the driver. Some real confusion amongst the yanks as to the law and procedure. Those that aren't shouting that they woukd.love to do the same are saying that the cyclists should be single file and deserved it.

Does an e bikes acceleration confuse drivers

As a driving instructor of nearly 15 years I'm in a position to see exactly my pupils thought process regarding encountering bicycles . It's not pretty. Most seem to come pre programmed with a mixture of fear and ignorance which if left unchecked leads to frustration and impatience . And I see...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

I managed to get a triangle bag to fit and a suntour suspension seat post. Also got the water bottle on the front fork. Which is not ideal but there wasn't anywhere else. Luggage and bottle holder cAn come off quick enough if needed. But will be handy for errands and pub trips etc.

Suntour seatpost and shim advice please

Getting the right suntour seapost for.my bike. Hi all. I want to order the suspension seapost. I've taken mine out and it has a few bits of info stamped into it. I think the most relevant is 28.6. I imagine that is the size of my actual seatpost. I believe the suntours come in 27.2 or 31.6...

Longevity of electric bikes in general - A bit sceptical.

These crack drive emtbs seem to knacker the motor out quite. A lot. I'm on a FB page of them. Scott , Bosch Levo , cube. They always seem to be replacing something and sometimes the motor. But maybe it's just the punishment they are getting.

    Oxygen bike.

Mal69. I've done nearly 500 miles since January. I had to slime the tubes as got a couple of punctures. None since then. And I whacked the front derailleur putting it in and out of the back of the car. Which a local bike shop fixed and put in a new gear cable for a tenner. Problem free.

    Oxygen S Cross E-Bike!

You start about 100 yards from the junction or the stalled traffic. Lol. Problem is the average car driver behind you will fekkin overtake and then brake Infront of you if you slow down that early. So leaving it until even the brain dead have noticed that there is a reason to brake coming up is...

    Oxygen S Cross E-Bike!

When I'm on the road I like to change down from top gear on approach to junctions. I generally do it early enough and factor in the surge as your legs go quicker peddling through the gear drop. But on occasion I'm using the cutout of the brakes to stop that. Very handy.

    Is this true.

Another thing you can do on my bike which only takes seconds us change the specific wheel size in the LCD. Smallest being 18 inch. So the motor cuts out much later. Of course now your speed and mileage is no longer accurate.

    Is this true.

I bought my oxygen ebike mtb this year in January. The dealer offered me a throttle and said it was legal if I fitted it myself. I did. I never derestricted it, however it is not walk assist only. It goes all the way to legal cutoff. Where do I stand legally? By the way I'm no speed king. And...
