it shows the correct speed some ppl want this and the only way is with a wired dongle. it is more heavy than my old one but dont really notice it tbh and ride my bike like a maniac anyway dh speed on the pavement :p :p the new ones are smaller but the same thing

the speed box will display the correct speed on the display where as the bad ass dongle will be halved but both do the same thing and remove the speed limit. one problem with the dongles wired to the motor is if you have a firmware upgrade to the software it could stop the dongle working.

a dongle only removes the speed limit so wont help at all you need to change the gearing. a smaller front sprocket will help more on steep hills and the cheapest option imo.

Interesting point about scooters here. They are illegal, but tolerated and as yet unregulated. A kid at the garage where I had my car repaired has a scooter with a 2600W motor, and he wants to upgrade! And obviously he can ride with a throttle, which we, supposedly aren't allowed to do. With...

i have been riding my bike around since 2014 with a dongle going 30mph the police are not interested unless you kill some one. there is a gang of 15 kids all flying round on scooters and there not road legal yet plod dont do jack ;)

i have a dongle so no 15mph limit i have to use my gears to accelerate where the bafang has a throttle so instant power i can just keep up but nukes me slowing down and speeding back up, tho it is pulling over 1000w.

No dongle unless inside the motor (and previous (first) owner denies any fitted). Average and displayed speeds look normal. I reset the trip data each ride so everything zeroed. As Poirot would say " a mystery, n'est pas?"

Took the bike to a local Bosch approved bike shop and they have fitted a new speed sensor cable, and its now back to working great. Frustratingly they performed a software update (I'd forgotten to tell them not to) but thankfully this update still works with my Badass 3.4 dongle, happy days.

Well thankfully some good news. Just picked up my Cube (with the latest update) and I'm pleased to say that my Badass dongle works fine, which surprised me. Apparently the battery has been optimised along with whatever else is included on the latest update. Anyone know what the latest update does?

Thanks. The bike shop updated it without me knowing and I don't think my Badass dongle will now work, so Im asking them to revert it back to what it was, but they didn't make any note of which version it was originally,

...climb and what mode you use and how much you can put towards that with peddling. my 500w 13.4ah bat can do 50 miles if i use the lower settings out with m8s on a long bike ride but if i hammer it in turbo with a dongle the range will be 25 miles or less on the flat with the speed limit removed.

As soundwave has said if you get a good price from them ebikeshop Farnham will fit a dongle and honour the warranty.
