Ha, don't complain too much, remember the days when to get any PC game running you had to mess with autoexec.bat and config.sys...disappointed kids everywhere when games wouldn't run on Christmas Day...

Major incident declared at London Luton airport after huge fire breaks out

Ha, probably not an ebike ;) What odds would you give on a, lets say, a Telsa? https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/oct/10/huge-fire-breaks-out-at-luton-airport-car-park

Apple f3cked it pretty badly when they moved to M1/M2 chips from an agnostic pov, impossible to run Windows full stop on that architecture. Apparently they now 'support' Parallels VMs running Win11, 'haud me back'...I'll never buy another one as the SW I need is just not available on mac/linux...

Yes, sure as eggs is eggs, never really understood why they came out and said the instead of new OS releases they were going to do iterative codebase releases. But Win11 was a new release....and when that codebase needs updated as new chips come along....to Win<x>? Dunno, I gave up caring, I...

My Windows 10 gaming PC looks and behaves pretty much like Win7 by design. You need Classic Shell and a properly sized Win7 logo for Start menu (lots of vids on YT) Even my son (14 next week), has done this (on his way more powerful gaming PC than mine), as the UX on Win10/Office 10 etc. was a...

    Video Editing Software for PC.

The main issue with Win7 these days is more and more websites no longer work, BBC iPlayer for example has issues and the download offline is not supported on Win7. Other websites such as Tinkercad don't behave as well as they used to and at some point the banks will render Win7 insecure etc...

Pics of my Honda Type-R rendered from pics in Mesh Room, hit and miss but enough to tart up if you have the skills (I don't) then resin print.

Apart from the Arduino Uno, the buck converter and BT gamepad I had rest of this in a Sunfounder kit I bought years ago. You can see the gamepad in top left in it's 3D printed housing to be screwed down inside the turntable, what happens is the servo activates and moves the flipper that...

    3-D Printer

I play with Arduinos too, this is a 3D printed photogrammetry turntable I made powered by Arduino with a external 9V power supply as the servo and stepper motors need way more power than an Arduino could ever supply (buck converter). It has three modes controlled by joystick. Mode 1 it rotates...

    3-D Printer

3D printing is a great way to get the youngsters in to stuff that's not just screen time. My son took an interest when I got the printer and we printed some cool stiff like Star Wars, Dr Who stuff and all the slot car stuff etc. He wanted to do a school science project with his pal and we found...

    3-D Printer

I disagree. The only way to reliably print faster, let's say twice as fast.....is to have 2 printers.... At a bare minimum I'd go with: N+2 ;)

Tinkercad has an 'align' button, when you learn how to use it life becomes a little simpler.. ;-)

    3-D Printer

Yes, the 'snap' value is important, you can set it to 'off' be more granular so you can align everything, frustrating experience otherwise

Tinkercad (and Autodesk Fusion 360 ), allow you to click on an object and manually enter the dimensions too, Tinkercad is probably as simple as you'll get these days but you can great results with some effort.

    3-D Printer

I would go through the Tinkercad tutorials, the methodology and workflow to create shapes is a case of taking basic shapes as building blocks then tweaking them and grouping them together to make bigger shapes. To remove stuff you use another shape but make it a hole. I've used Photoshop for...

Seeking Advice on Affordable Ebike for 20-Mile Daily Commute (£500-£600 = Budget)

Thanks for the link, spend approx £600 - for the money these bikes seem look like phenomenal value for money, especially if it's your first ebike.

Probably about 1.5 hrs for 4 cone parts slicing at 0.12 resolution (high quality) so that's the base/top ring/middle ring/bottom ring. Half that time for 0.2 resolution slice (standard quality). However that's not how I print the cones, I tend to do 16 of one part at a time (sometimes 32), and...
