    DIY Conversion - Voodoo Marasa

So done a few rides now and overall very pleased. For me the screen sticks out, I guess I could move it somewhere else. Would be nice if it was removable. I wondered if the other more discreet screens sold by PSWPOWER might do the job like this one...

    New Bafang

Good info on that mini motor. It looks really nice. I couldn't see it on that link but found another here. I was serioulsy thinking about the Xiongda before I got the Q100. So what is it that makes it less than perfect, the lack of sine wave control (noise) ?

    De-limit Carrera Crossfire

Did we have an update on this ? I see someone else has been having cutout problems with this bike. Quite glad I did not go for one in the end.

Another little gem on ES Forum.

Posted mine back today finally to get repaired. I just sent the main unit back so was a little cheaper. So Nealh, are using the auto mode ? Ah just read you never had the manual switch included anyway. Good heads up D8veh on cutting slots in the strips, I read that somewhere else too.

This one comes with a carry strap as well. I think they also do a larger one. Ah you mean straps to attach to a generic carrier. I Like the idea of being able to remove and put it on quickly. The racks are only about £28.

Possibly a better solution. You need a Topeak rack but this bag is selling discounted in Halfords for £30 at the moment. I never realised but this transforms into panniers both sides as well, which are hidden in side zipped pouches. Good if you get shopping. The main unit simply slides on...

    DIY Conversion - Voodoo Marasa

Ok almost there a bit of tidying up to do plus decide what battery I need. For tests I am using this battery. Fits in a pencil case. Made up of two series 5s2p packs connected in series with balance taps and fuse giving a total of 36v, 3Ah using 1.5Ah Sony Konion cells. Weighs 1kg. I also...

Brompton Conversion Kit(s) + Plus other small wheel motors/controllers etc

Well I would recommend the Tongxin narrow width (84mm) motor. You will need to spread the forks a little and fileout the dropouts. You can buy direct from China if you want. A search of ebay for a 36V bottle battery would probably be best, Make sure it has decent Samsung cells in it though. I...

Indeed it is. When I started back in 2009 trying to get batterries with tags or welded up in certain configs was difficult. Now you can DIY.

    DIY Conversion - Voodoo Marasa

Yes I think it went up to 500W but it fluctuates quickly. Guess a better test will be when I go up a hill/incline. So the controller won't ever allow more than 17A through it ? Don't want to burn motor out. Once it is all tidied up I will test it more.

    DIY Conversion - Voodoo Marasa

Initially with the PAS it was full power all the time. I changed one of the P settings and it now gives me varrying increasing power as I go up 1-5. I like the walk mode :) Took it out for a spin and was VERY surprised at the power, though it was just on the flat. Once it is all set up properly...

Well fitted the wheel connected up and all seems ok. First time I have ever done a pedelec fit as use to throttle only. Re the torque arm (thanks Dave) this is how its fitted on non drive side. Thiere is a natural hole/gap in the frame with the design where I have bolted it trhough with a...

Ah yes I have seen that. I think he is going to do them pretty much ready assembled. Not available yet and probably £20-30 more once you have purchased the extra bits needed. Havinbg said that by the time I return mine and get it back repaired probably will have cost me the same.

    DIY Conversion - Voodoo Marasa

Ok laced up, now just need to tension and offset. I used X2 cross. Could have used X1 but given its quite a small diameter hub in a large wheel X2 is fine in terms of spoke angles. Not sure if I should have weaved second cross under but my guess is the flange is too wide for that. oh and...
