Help! Weight limit/strain on converted e-bike

Hi everyone, I'm still pretty new to e-bikes, so I'm aware this may be a daft question - but here goes. I have a hybrid converted with a midrive Bafang BBS02. The battery and motor together add a good 10kg to the frame. I'm wondering if anyone has found adding loaded pannier racks to their E-...

Gentleman wants to be a lady - Extra large ladies step through bikes for conversion

Oh, no you're right that isn't heavy at all - my mistake! I think I got my webpages mixed up. My hybrid is 13kg, under 12kg is definitely good. Yeah I guess suspension and space for your battery in the frame are the main things to consider with a step through hybrid. I have 35c tyres on my...

Gentleman wants to be a lady - Extra large ladies step through bikes for conversion

That ARRIBA is gorgeous! Shame it's so heavy. Might be worth considering front suspension though even if just for commuting. Due to the extra weight of the motor and battery I've found I'm always glad of it and opt to lock it in because the shocks feel more noticeable on bumpy roads/curbs/bumps...

Help! Bafang BBS02 short circuiting when I plug in brake sensors?

Thank you! I would have been worrying about that for a while haha, I didn't realise how close the magnets had to be to the sensors. It's all working great, cheers

Help! Bafang BBS02 short circuiting when I plug in brake sensors?

Hi everyone, Thanks to everyone's insightful posts on here I nearly have my BBS02 up and running. There's just one problem. When I connect my hydraulic brake sensors to the plug and play brake cables, the motor no longer responds to throttle or pedal assist. The display turns on, but nothing...

Help! Removable ebike parts and security. Leaving displays on or off the bike?

Hey Peter, I was wondering if you'd had any programming problems with the minimalist display? Your advice led me to taking a took a look at the EggRider V2 - and a few people mentioned having programming and start up issues when they tried to put their original bafang displays back on -...

Help! Removable ebike parts and security. Leaving displays on or off the bike?

Nice idea. I need to swap my quick releases out too, is it easy to do? I saw someone use an old chain wrapped in some inner tubing to secure saddle and seatpost to frame. It looks really discrete but adds peace of mind. Might do this when I upgrade to a suntour suspension seatpost!

Help! Removable ebike parts and security. Leaving displays on or off the bike?

That sounds like good security. I was thinking 3 locks too - for high risk areas. D-Locks for frame and rear wheel, and a cable for the front wheel. Can just carry them on my pannier. I don't think I can see myself wanting to remove the 4kg battery too often - I don't have a pannier battery...

Help! Removable ebike parts and security. Leaving displays on or off the bike?

So with bright sunlight - is that because it's not back-lit/very bright?

Help! Removable ebike parts and security. Leaving displays on or off the bike?

Wow that is small! I love the look of this, thanks. £40 isn't bad at all. I might get one in addition to the bafang display I already have and see how it is. Brilliant

Help! Removable ebike parts and security. Leaving displays on or off the bike?

I can understand that. The whole point of an e-bike is freedom, right! I think I was heading down the agonising route too but this thread has helped me relax a bit. I'll be sensible, but not go crazy

Help! Removable ebike parts and security. Leaving displays on or off the bike?

I think you're right. That's probably the best attitude. You can only do so much - gotta live and let go. If my bike wasn't very bright orange I think I'd feel better. It really stands out! But it's also part of the fun. I have invested in some good locks like you. Thanks for helping me relax a...

Help! Removable ebike parts and security. Leaving displays on or off the bike?

I really like that idea, I'd not actually thought about rain other than maybe a plastic bag. What do you plan to make it with?

Help! Removable ebike parts and security. Leaving displays on or off the bike?

Hey guys, Just getting ready to install a bbs02 and starting to think about security. My bafang display -(and most others from what I can tell) are not easy to pop off and put in your bag when you leave your bike - like say simple bike lights are. It would involve unscrewing the clamps of the...

Installing Bafang BSS02 on bike with internal cable routing - exiting under bottom bracket?

OK great, thanks for your help. So if I remove the plastic bracket, can the cables be pulled out and just tied to the outer frame? I wouldn't need to buy/replace anything would I?

Installing Bafang BSS02 on bike with internal cable routing - exiting under bottom bracket?

This was the best photo I could get for now. As you can see the cables are directly inline with the cranks. There is more space under the downtube as the cables are running along the chain-stays in the other direction.

Installing Bafang BSS02 on bike with internal cable routing - exiting under bottom bracket?

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if you can help. I've just bought a Whyte Ridgeway that I am very happy with, that I'll be using to install my Bafang BBS02. I came accross someone on here who had successfully done a conversion with an earlier model of the Ridgeway which gave me some extra peace of...

    Bafang crank arms by Lekkie

Thanks for sharing! I'm thinking of getting myself a pair of these. Can I ask how you have found them so far? Have they held up OK? Also any advice on how to know if straight or offset? bars are needed? I haven't installed the BBS02 yet. Cheers
