    Powacycle Windsor RIP

Two years from initial purchase, my electric biking days have ended. In that time, I have had an entire replacement bike, 3 throttles and two motors - and now I need a third motor, 4th throttle and a new controller, which will cost me in all about £200. The battery must be due replacement soon...

Another one bites the dust! :o(

Hello all, The third throttle on my Powacycle Windsor bit the dust this morning .... I hadn't even gotten around to taking the cellophane off of it. It's only survived a couple of hundred miles. I wasn't even using it at the time - I had just cycled up one of the steepest hills on my...

The stricken Windsor is back on the road

Just thought I'd report this one as it might be useful to other Powacycle riders ... My bike went in to the LBS as dead as a doornail again - turned out it was just a duff throttle. That's the second time it's happened, but I never realised because I wasn't using the throttle at the time...

    another motor bites the dust?

I've killed it again. The poor Windsor died after I went over a drain cover (unavoidably, but it wasn't anything spectacular) and dead it remains. That's 2 motors in a year. The LBS is going to be sooo pleased to hear from me ... (!)

New noises from new motor - Powacycle Windsor

I've noticed some new noises coming from the nice new replacement motor in my Powacycle Windsor. It's only when I'm pushing it and it seems to stop when I'm riding along. I can only think to describe it as the sound it would make if you swished a lot of ball bearings around in a cup every...

Bike Maintenance question - Powacycle Windsor

I'm hoping someone can help me with this one (and that it's not too serious!) For the last couple of days, I've heard (and felt) a clacking noise when I'm pedalling - different to chain noise, more like it is coming from the crank. It is loudest and most noticible when I'm pedalling hard or...

Changing the derailleur on a Windsor?

It didn't take long - I've started modifying the Windsor ... :D I've put a lovely new seat post on it - I'm now waaay up in the air and can whip along much more efficiently. I find the ride a lot smoother than when I was bouncing up an down on the old suspension post with my knees...

    Cheap saddles in Aldi

I just wanted to share .... I went in Aldi's at the weekend and spotted an enorous pile of £5 saddles - thought I might as well give one a go as the standard one on my Windsor is far too squashy and wide for my taste. After all, it couldn't be worse and for a fiver you can't go far wrong...

Poor battery life - suggestions please?

Hi all! I've been using my new NiMH Windsor quite a bit - so far I've clocked up just over a hundred miles (which I think isn't too bad given I've only had it a month and I couldn't ride it for over a week after I fell off ....) The battery life was poor to start with, but I put that down to...

New Powacycle Windsor - intermittant power

Hello everyone - I hope someone can give me some advice on this one .... I've just picked up my new Powacycle Windsor and ridden it the 11 miles home from the shop (pretty daunting when I haven't sucessfully ridden a bike for about 15 years!) I made it in one piece (obviously!), but the...

    My new bike's on order!

Just wanted to say hello and thank you for all the advice I've gleaned from this site! For all those that didn't see my first posts, I've got a displaced knee with arthritus - but I desperately want to be able to go out on cycle rides with my kids. I simply don't have enough "pushing power" in...
