    Thule ebike carrier

Hi, I bought the same carrier in May 2013. Having a tow bar fitted, Witter, cost £255 and the carrier was about £324 if I remember correctly for a 2009 Honda Civic. Expensive but as my main bike is a Storck Multitask it sort of justifies spending the money on an easy to use sturdy carrier.

£2,000 toy fund - but what to spend it on ?

My original claim is that with all motors restricted to a legal output of 250 watts it is possible to have a direct drive hub motor produce that amount of power from the slowest riding speed possible, for arguments sake 5 mph. As any crank drive bike is also legally restricted to that same...

Panasonic Hub Drive vs BionX and Storck

As others have said it is next to impossible to get a test ride at one location of all the different bikes for any given price range. I chose the Storck over the Kalkhoff for its more sporty riding position and loved its frame finish. But that choice does not mean that a Kalkhoff or Haibike...

    Battery charging time?

What do other forum members think about the differing theories regarding the best way of charging Lithium batteries? Some bike makes say a slow charger protects battery life and others provide fast chargers. Is it always better to use a slow charger but a fast charger is just more convenient...

    Yippee, gone and done it.

I only visited last years bike show at Birmingham but bought my Storck at the show. I also liked the Kalkhoff but chose the Storck for its more sporty riding position. The Haibike with its Bosch motor upside down compared to other bikes does look good. Has anyone tried the Storck fitted with the...

    Hi

Where about's in Spain do you live Eddy? I only know the Costa Tropical area. I thought Mid Wales, my home, was hilly until I saw the hills there along the coast let alone in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

    Hallo from Lancashire

Welcome Jackyh, hope you enjoy all the arguments and differing views on the forum as much as riding your Kalkhoff.

    2013 Bosch Motored E-bikes

We all appreciate the problems faced by importers and dealers but is it any wonder that some buyers come to the conclusion they may as well buy online from Europe. Whilst the UK sales industry fails to come up with a solution to provide demonstration bikes at all of their dealers throughout the...

£2,000 toy fund - but what to spend it on ?

Comparing a car engine to the way an electric motor fed by an electronic controller is just wrong. I assume you are thinking that if you connect a simple electric motor to a battery it will produce very little power if forced to revolve slowly, that is true. A motor in the hub ungeared like...

£2,000 toy fund - but what to spend it on ?

For a given weight of rider plus bike and 250 watts available there should be no difference between hub or crank drive bikes let alone Bosch/Impulse/Panasonic etc crank drives. If the motor is capable of providing its 250 watts power through most of its rev range via a good electronic controller...

    Dating in your 50s

Having been divorced after 14 years of marriage whilst in my early 30's I've stayed single, and not dated, since for over 30 years due to being scared of being treated like that again.

    Insurance problems

When I bought my Storck Raddar Multitask and looked at insuring it I had to give up in the end. My house/contents insurance would not insure it as its value was over £1500. Specialist insurers I found on the internet wanted over £250 premium for theft/fire, the only cover I wanted. So I gave up...

    New Test For Immigrants.

I could not disagree with you on this more strongly. I believe those who do live in a country have a "divine right" to decide who may come and live in it. That of course includes earlier immigrants of whatever race, religion or origin. According to your theory it would be OK if China or...

£2,000 toy fund - but what to spend it on ?

Hi from Storcker: Re: the Big Apple tyres. I've been surprised by how well they roll considering the width and am quite happy with them. On another thread I posted that they give poor grip, none really, on wet mud due to their shallow tread and width allowing them to...

Very impressed by the knowledge and helpfulness on this forum. Can I take advantage?

As you can see from my Storcker name I am biased. When I looked for my first Ebike I wanted silence from the motor, well known gearing, a very nicely finished frame with gooood spec Shimano components. But most of all I wanted a nice to ride bike that also had electric assistance, not an...

Interesting Read About Ebikes on Bike Biz Website

And that's before you consider the differing battery charging theories, a long slow charge or a quick charge, and the incompatible chargers/ plugs themselves. Apple could not even resist the temptation to change the sockets on their latest iPad etc from what they had a year ago let alone...

£2,000 toy fund - but what to spend it on ?

No, with a £2k budget unless he really wants a Storck, and to stretch his budget, He ought to look at the BH Emotion Neo Cross as a hub drive. If he can overcome his dislike of a crank drive drive the Kalkhoff C8 Agattu is a nice allround bike. It's all down to personal taste I know but bikes...

    How do you carry yours.

How do you carry your Ebike in or on your car? I sometimes, if it ever stops snowing/icing/raining/blowing a gale, put my bike in my car and drive 30 odd miles to cycle in a different area for a change. I put the bike, front first, in the back of my 2009 Honda civic with the seats folded...
