These motors are real work-horses and rarely give problems. Is everything standard or has your controller shunt been soldered for more power? There are other motors that you could use. The Q100 is quieter, but a bit less torque, other than that, it's probably another Bafang.

Hi Frank

Yeah was new and done just about 600miles in ten months , yeah will contact KUDOS . i havnt thought it sounded right and the clunking noise
Some one said is it when ive stopped and rolled back a bit its just the motor locking in , but i tried that and didn't matter rolling back or not , even breaking slowing down then speeding up it clunks again when electric kicks in

I have a Kudos Tourer (front wheel drive), yes the motor can be noisy, and sometimes the motor comes in with a little clunk, but that is only when I have max assistance, I don't find it unacceptable, perhaps yu are expecting more finesse?

The clunk is the clutch engaging. It varies a bit from motor to motor, but without feeling it myself, it's difficult to say whether yours is worse than it should be. Most of them you can't feel the clutch engage, but a lot of bikes have a soft ramp on the throttle, and yours probably doesn't. I've got one noisy 250w Bafang that went noisy after I stalled it on full power. I'm guessing I damaged the teeth on the gears a bit, but I can't get it open to check. I keep meaning to make a tool.
