I have my heart set on adding to my collection of rides.
Right now I have a very average non electric one which I got 2nd hand (but was only used 4 times on dry tarmac!)

It fits a purpose - which is my commute after dropping off the kids in the morning.
I can't have the hassle of a bike carrier, and the journey requires a few KM through woodland - hence the 26" folding MTB.

However, I really do want the option of an eBike that can do the same journey.

I prefer not retrofit the one I have for various reasons - one of which being there are times I like to get around unassisted! Plus, the brakes are rubbish + overall it's not a great quality bike so don't want to throw good money at it.

Any recommendations that aren't too pricey?

I quite like the look of this type of bike, but not found anyone selling them in Europe at a reasonable price yet.

Links don't seem to be working in preview...my first time trying to do links here!

Here is the expensive option:

add the GSM kit of your choice, because their e-bike versions are Bionix so priced out of this world. You should still be able to squeeze in under £1100 if you don't need too big a battery £599 + £499. If you feel the brakes aren't enough swap the front one out for a Magura hydraulic rim brake.

Yes it will fold with the motor. If you have mounted the battery underneath the frame it will have to come off when you fold. Oh and secure it with a strap when riding especially off road.

With the mid motor it will climb like a goat
