1 & 2 - these were outside and inside a LBS, Python Metro and Schwinn tailwind... the shop is Elmy's on St Helens Street who in 2009 didn't touch e-bikes

3 - Giant LaFree parked outside Sainsburys

4 - Sakura, ridden by a Chinese/Fillipino gent aged 50-70+ (people of Oriental ancestry often look younger than they are ;))

5 - Another Giant(?) - the one with the battery carried like a side pannier, ridden by a different Oriental guy slightly younger than the first...

6 - Generic Chinese e-bike (might have been a cyclamatic) ridden by an middle aged English chap..

on other occasions I've also seen much younger people (my age or below) on e-bikes, an Izip and a Wisper clone..

I expect presumably someone is going to buy them at some point. bear in mind this is a pretty full on "lycras" store in many respects and it was one of the last ones I'd expected to see ebikes in, especially after asking them last year being told "oh no, we don't do those..."

there are about 4 LBS's in Ipswich. at one point only one sold or serviced ebikes and the dudes in there said they were inundated with repairs. they also mentioned they were selling more and more and not just to the older people or the SE/East Asian community (who are early adopters of e-bikes for obvious reasons - indeed it was one of my Fillipino work colleagues who bought one long before I did)
