I was riding my Powabyke Euro in town today, when the throttle developed a problem . Instead of returning to a closed position when released, it would go to a position where it was about one quarter open. On returning home, I removed the throttle from the bike, and prised it apart. The return spring is a torsion type wire spring of about 4 turns. The hook had broken off one end of the spring, and stuck to one of the two small magnets that operate the hall effect. I removed the debris from the magnet , and using fine pliers, formed a new hook. Getting it back together needs three hands and good eye sight. I have neither, but after about an hour it is back together and working. Lets hope it lasts for a while.
