a little help with handlebars carbon fiber

carbon fiber handlebars i am looking at (just for the reduce the weight of the bike) but on looking have noted a bmx bar that a weight of 90lbs is this max weight or 90 lbs per side ? any other draw backs to having these bars

The general drawback of lighter handlebars is that they easier to break, carbon fibre doesn't necessarily mean it will be strong. I'd have thought that putting lighter bars on an electric bike wasn't very cost effective, you might find lighter tyres are more rewarding.
