I've finally become a true pedelecer today - a nice shiny new blue Synergie Mistral was delivered. Well chuffed. Built it up (after 25 years of riding bikes I still can't figure out how to set v brakes up without the right [as looking at them from in front of the bike] brake pad sitting virtually on the wheel and only the left one moving much when you apply the brakes!) and took it for a quick spin - very cool! The throttle is fun (though it struggles with my weight - no surprise). :)

Thanks to everyone on this forum for being so helpful while I've pestered you all and I'll be sure to report back tomorrow what I make of my first trip on it.

Nice one Daz, looking forward to hearing how you get on.
I got home from my first commute to work with a big grin on me face last night.

Thanks all, and thanks for the link Bob! :)

Big grin here too Rad! It was the first time I've done a route on an ebike that I've done a lot on a normal moutain bike and the difference was phenomenal - couldn't believe the difference. Normally I get to the station completely exhausted and sweating like a pig but this morning I hadn't even broken a sweat and wasn't out of breath at all (oh and I got there in half the time too!)! Amazing, simply amazing. Might have to go the long way home tonight... :D

Edit: fingers crossed the bike is still there when I get back to the station!

I had an impromptu visit to the Bristol Eye Hospital (iritis again) on the way home so did a few miles riding last night and boy what fun! :) The throttle is so useful around town that I don't know how I coped before. Looking for street signs, building names, dodging pedestrians etc. - just keep the throttle open and power along nicely whilst you concentrate on other things. Fantastic.

I was going to change the tyres asap (big fat nobbly things) but with the weather how it is I'm going to give them a chance to prove their worth ;)

I ordered a spare battery and that got delivered yesterday so I'm all set for a big ride at the weekend. Happy days. :D
