Yes, that would be me.

I have been suffering with poor performance on my Ezee lipoly for sometime now. Actually from the get go, culminating in complete failure. It never actually occurred to me that the remedy was in my own hands.

On the advice of Andy from onbike, I followed all the steps listed here

batteries

I also went one further and changed the fuse.

What a difference. The battery has not died - far from it, it has never performed better.

So which step was it? I'll probably never know. It wasn't the contacts on the bike. They were spotless. It might have been the clips on the battery, they were pretty grubby. It may have been forcing the clips together slightly. Personally though, I think it was the loose screws holding the clips. It may have been a combination of all of these.

Strange combination of feelings, happy and foolish.

Anyway - thanks Andy (and Flecc of course)

regards

Nick

I don't think you have been a plonker at all. The contacts on the Ezee battery are dreadfull - I lost count of the number of times I lost power when it rained. I used to keep a pot of brasso at work to keep the contacts clean. Then there was the time I had to send a battery back to 50 Cycles as the contacts had come adrift internally. After riding the Torq for a couple of years I thought it was fit only for an enthusiast or somebody who likes tinkering all the time. Me, I like to get on a bike in the morning and ride to work without the fiddling.
