I visited CyclePoint this afternoon to pick up a new battery and Rhys spent some time showing me the treasures they have.
Apart from his locally made skinny bike which he is gong to add an e-kit, and WaiWon Ching's last bike (for sale) Rhys demostrated the eZee kit. I have long been a supporter of these bikes and I have also praised David (Wisper) for his amazing support for his bikes, so I think I can commnet on the neatness and ease of conversion that the eZee kit allows without being accused of ignoring other makes.
Rhys has a clever two tier pannier rack with the battery sitting on the lower tier leaving the upper tier for panniers. The controller sits under the lower level of the pannier. This allows any bike to be converted. Rhys then showed me the alternative to the two tier pannier - battery bags that either hang or the pannier rack or (if only using one) sit on the pannier.
I was overwhelmed - think Charlie in the chocolate factory - and wishing I knew then what I know now!
After buying two battery bags (I use three batteries) I had to leave before I bought WaiWon's bike and most of the shop.
CyclePoint is located in the back streets of Brighton but close the the main roads only a few minutes from the train station, and is well worth a visit for ebike enthusists. Brighton Beach is OK too!
