Hi Pedelecers,

I thought you might enjoy a retort to the Adrian Chiles business doing the rounds today. Not particularly well researched, but got massive traction. I'm trying to get his attention in order to set him up with a demo bike, we can easily change his mind i reckon.

Anyhow, now CyclingElectric is online we have a platform to fire back. Enjoy!

This article regarding ebike battery recycling is interesting - do you know if they accept individual cells, or entire batteries only?

You can now recycle your e-bike battery with over 600 UK bike shops

Your commute from Ware to London is rather long, how long does that journey take by ebike? Think I'd need almost two hours tbh...

The commute i've done on a pedal cycle and it took two hours, so i suspect i could shave 20-30 minutes by e-bike just because i have typically lazy legs. At the price of a train ticket it's appealing, but probably not an every day of the week ride.

As for the e-bike battery recycling, i suspect bike shops as the point of access would much prefer to take whole batteries, but if they have safe storage (as they should) then why not cells too.

Rush hour traffic slows my ebike down to between 8 and 9 miles per hour average, unless I take out a lot of car wing mirrors along the way.

Cheers, I'll enquire - I've got a few individual loitering dead cells and non-ebike battery packs, which otherwise would have required a trip to the tip several miles away.
