Another new problem

Unfortunately, I left the 'ignition' switched on overnight on my Tonaro Enduro, the following day it would not start.
I had all the green lights showing, occasionally the motor would give a kick but not run when I turned the throttle.
I put it up on the bike stand and pedalled to use the pedelec, the motor started and ran horribly roughly. I found that I could then turn the throttle and cease pedalling but the rough running continued.
The motor got warm after just 2 minutes.
Checked that all wires were connected to the controller but cannot go any further because I have no idea what I am doing.
Have contacted the supplier and am waiting a reply.
Anyone got any ideas, could this be a blown controller as in the other thread requesting diagnosis.
Why would leaving the ignition on damage anything?
Literally, the bike was running fine when I left it, 12 hours later I had this problem.

Your controller may well be blown now. I'm not saying this is what happened,, but there's a strong possibility: You had a bad connection on one of your phase or hall wires, which gave intermittent movement of the motor. When the motor doesn't turn, it's effectively stalled, like holding the brake on. You then give it full thtottle, which puts the maximum current through it whilst stationary, which blows one or more of the FETs in the controller.

You have to test the controller now with an ebike tester, which you can get from Ebay. Alternatively, you can disconnect the battery and measure the resistance between each phase wire and each of the two battery wires on the controller (6 results). It's best to discharge the capacitors first by shorting the two battery wires.

If your controller is OK, it could be that there's a problem with a motor hall sensor. You can check them by measuring the DC voltage between each signal wire (blue, yellow, green) abd the black while you make the motor turn slowly - if that's possible. You shouls see each wire pulsing on and off with 5v.

Thanks D8veh. I cannot turn this sort of motor.
I think that my best bet is to try another controller and if that doesn't work, take the bike back to Powerpedals and get them to fix it.
The problem is, I don't know why this happened. The bike was fine the night before and then gave no sign of life in the morning
