Hi all, I have wisper 905SE ridged crossbar hybrid bike.

I got it on a cycle to works scheme about 4 years ago and on the whole its been a good bike I did have an issue with the back wheel breaking spokes and the rim collapsing but replacing with a alternative rim by wisper dealer ," icycle electric at Salmesbury,"which resolved that problem during the march lockdown.

I`ve heard about a torque upgrade that can be done but cant find any reviews or videos about it.

has anyone had the upgrade and if so would you reccomend getting it done?

I want it to feel more natural and use the pressure to give the required amount of Power rather than having to keep adjusting all the time.

And hopefully help with battery life too.

Have you had the torque upgrade yourself

I've ridden a couple of Wisper Torques. I can't say that I noticed anything special. I prefer the smaller Aikema motor, but that's because it's smooth and quiet, which is nothing to do with the torque sensor.

Maybe a change to a controller with current control rather than speed control would give you what you want, but I'm not sure what problem you're trying to solve.

Thanks for the advice it's very much appreciated.

I saw the torque upgrade was on the way back wisper website and just wondered if it was worth forking iut£300 for it.

From your comments it doesn't seem a good plan.

I have had a Wisper 905 Torque for several months now, and been highly delighted with it. I find the torque sensor gives a very natural and progressive feel to riding the bike. I have recently posted a 1000 mile review in the Electric Bikes Reviews section, which you might find worth reading before you write it off.
