Any recommendations for a bike work stand for a Wisper 905.

I did get this one from Aldi :

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=aldi+bicycle+stand&rlz=1C1CHFX_enGB530GB530&espv=210&es_sm=93&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=wBVdUuKuHOPB0QXrtIDICw&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1280&bih=675&dpr=1#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=AwozMDfMLBEq5M%3A%3Bxl_Y0VrxAE5FMM%3Bhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.aldi.ie%252Ffileadmin%252Ffm-dam%252Fproducts%252Fproduct_photos%252F2013%252FSpecialbuys%252FW39%252FThursday%252FW3913_PD_Thursday_29.jpg%3Bhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.aldi.ie%252Fen%252Fspecialbuys%252Fthursday-26th-september%252Fproducts-detail-page%252Fps%252Fp%252Fbike-stand%252F%3B410%3B315

But unfortunately it is not suitable due to the combination of the bike's battery weight and its short cross bar which means it is tail heavy and wont balance.

I assume that I need something that will clamp on to the seatpost and cross bar, it's a shame as the Aldi one was cheap (£15) and very rugged, although it does need to be bolted to a wall.

This was done to death a couple of weeks ago. I have a "Bike Hand" one (Google it)

Only thing I'd say is, for an electric bike don't buy a cheap flimsy thing. Mine's fine for all my bikes but was over £60

I fancy a workstand, but a problem might be my bike. Am I right in assuming they are all designed for a conventional cross bar bike, in that you attach to the crossbar and the bike effectively hangs down from this? This seems logical, particularly with a heavy ebike.

My bike is a step thru (Woosh Santana) with no cross bar only a short horizontal brace low down. At what point would I attach my bike for maximum stability and safety?

Most have a rotating head which lets them grip the seat tube or seat post instead. Where would be most stable depends on the battery and motor location of your bike, however with my old Wisper 905, despite the rear motor and behind the seatpost battery, the Revolution workstand was perfectly stable when holding the bike by the crossbar, well ahead of the centre of gravity.
