In that case we might as well stick with steam, we built those well
it makes sense for intercity trains to run faster than cars on motorways but there is really no need for 150mph train on 100 miles link.

No need for the word probably. BJ like Trump is a proven liar, sad state of affairs when he is preferred to JC in the election though. If Labour can't beat a known liar I wonder if they will ever get into power again under the present first past the post system.

BJ will have to make a total shambles of the next 5 years and Labour select anyone other than RLB as their next leader to have the slightest possibility of victory at the next election.
Labour are hurtling headlong towards RLB. The smearing of the other candidates has already started. The trouble is, they are a London centric elite who consider themselves to exist for the purpose of saving the very poor, thick and racist people outside London. What they haven’t twigged is that London isn’t like the rest of Britain. People don’t want London culture imposed on them.

Nigel Farage suggests divine intervention saved him from plane crash in 2010
Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage has said he realised he had been given a 'purpose' when he survived a plane crash during campaigning in the general election in 2010.

I'm sure that will have done wonders for recruitment numbers of the "Atheists Society"
When I go to meet my maker I shall ask the Devil for a position next to the bus stop so I can cheer Nigel as he checks in
So neither god nor satan was willing to accept him.

Reminds me of an old song (to the rune of tura larula laray )

"I dreamt that I died and to heaven did go
And where have you come from they wanted to know
I said "I come from Yorkshire!"
St Peter did stare, then said
"Step right inside
You're the first one from there"

I suspect Bombardier and Hitachi Rail might disagree regarding the UK's ability to build trains.

The Spanish train builder Talgo is intending to open a manufacturing facility on the site of the closed Longannet Power Station. This depends on Talgo winning the contract to supply HS2. If successful this would be a significant boost to what was a coal mining area and could result in opening the rail link from Alloa to Fife and on to Edinburgh.

I also note that as HS2 is designated as a UK project there will be Barnett consequentials for the devolved administrations.
In that case we'll see some benefit to HS2 in Scotland fairly soon because it's likely to be 30 years before we see a HS train.
Ah yes Hitachi, one of Victorian British entepreneurial companies.
Or something....
And Bombardier are I believe Canadian, are they not?

The lads at North Yorkshire Moors Railway are willing to push on till London.
The crew of the "Sir Nigel Gresley" can't wait to steam into Kings Cross in Triumph

I have to say I love that inefficient, uneconomical, messy mechanical monstrosity
And I really don't know why
I just do.
For a similar reason I think I have real weaknes for very early sturmey archer engineering (have a 1933 Light Tourist with k series hub and rod operated drum brakes)

Stereotyping like this creates more heat than light. Londoners, like remainers or leavers, are a very diverse bunch with very different culture and values. It's not helpful. unless like say trump one has to fuel division and hatred to win arguments because ones too thick and bereft of integrity to do anything more meaningful.

Rubbish, there is no London culture. We are a mix of all 300 or so major countries and cultures, even using all their languages.

The combination of all this knowledge, wisdom and experience results in the best outcomes in the country, one that all others should emulate to succeed, as we in London do.

A nd you certainly have the wrong idea in attacking London and Labour. Your Tory PM is very London centric and is faithfully following Labour's declared aims.

Wrong!

Centuries ago it was the north such as Lancashire and Yorkshire that were the most successful, I take it you've heard of wool and cotton?

Geographic location has little to do with it. Success follows success, wherever it is, just as money makes money.

London now has the formula for success in today's world, Leaver rest of England has got it very wrong as you'll find out over time.

Labour civil war over trans rights https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7994935/Labour-civil-war-trans-rights-Rebecca-Long-Bailey-backs-controversial-campaign.html?ito=native_share_article-masthead

Here we go again, Labour keeping out of contention. And idiots in here cant see why we have a Tory government. Too busy barking up wrong tree. Moaning at or about Tories is utterly pointless when we don't have an alternative.

We don't need an alternative now that the Tories and their PM are following so many Labour policies to please their new northern voters.

And Blair thought his party was New Labour!

This particular episode started with you "and your ilk" (that is, barry) moaning about and stereotyping labour and labour supporters. What is it with right wing types and stereotyping? And prejudice? Is independent thought and observation too big a leap for you?

Corbyn asked Johnson:

If there was a case of a young white boy with blond hair who later dabbled in class A drugs and conspired with a friend to beat up a journalist, would he deport that boy, or is it one rule for young black boys from the Caribbean and another for white boys from the United States?

Wrong again, I have never ever voted Tory. Strongly believe in Socialism and Labour, just not our current incarnation . Its a corruption of real Labour, as bad as New Labour was probably worse because this one will never see power. It's such as you, OG, Corbyn, and co who have hijacked Labour and taken it into oblivion. And then you moan at the alternative which has developed and adapted to suit voting public.
But just keep moaning at Tories, Boris and let Labour slip further into oblivion. Only thing is it suits Boris just fine. He loves not having any opposition. He, s laughing every single day at our current Labour idiots, including all those loony lefts such as you supporting RLB etc etc. Birds of a feather and all that. You are helping discredit Labour more and more.
