Theresa May has told her departments that an extra £2billion is now available for no-deal Brexit. I thought nobody in parliament wanted no deal and Grieve's amendment made it unlikely that no deal would happen.
KudosDave

Grieves amendment is worthless

Think we are settling towards two eventualities. Either May's deal or no deal. The more folk push for a 2nd ref the more likely a no deal...

Jolly good thing too, let's have no deal, and people who voted for Brexit get their reward.
Then when the joke is over, clear up the wreckage and rejoin the EU

There are a lot of small/medium companies that will be destroyed by no deal....its all about luck....if your business falls into high tariffs and its a product that can already be sold by local EU businesses you could be in problems ....bicycles WTO tariff is 14%,the likes of Pashley and Brompton would find it difficult.
The bigger companies will direct ship into Europe ,by passing the UK.
No deal is not project fear ,the result is now reality.
I just cannot believe that any government would let no deal happen, they must be hoping that May's deal will be voted through or the EU will back down at the last minute and agree trade without tariffs.

£2 billions for what? it's not likely that no deal is going to last long.
this money would be better spent somewhere else.

totally. WTO means that they will have little choice than moving out of the UK.

Ah, from the pupil at the School of Slow Learners the penny is finally dropping.
It`s clear this past couple of weeks there's a groundswell of opinion that a `No Deal` is the only viable option
tommie You really have no idea what is going on have you? do wake up,it's you that is the slow learner, a no deal Brexit will destroy the credibility of the leave faction for ever, and has always suited me just fine, for if we cant kill Brexit the next best thing is to let it kill itself
Is the penny finally dropping with you?
I doubt it

Take two companies - one would benefit from no-deal, the other would suffer. I'd put money on the one that suffers going through their pain way before the one that benefits gets their gain. It takes time and money to increase production whereas failure can occur almost instantly.

Never much liked the SNP, but they have said some sensible things:

SNP urges government to publish 'sobering' secret reports on impact of no-deal Brexit

MPs are currently holding the emergency debate on the EU summit and Theresa May’s Brexit deal proposed by the SNP.
It was opened by Ian Blackford, the SNP’s leader at Westminster. He said he had seen secret government reports on the impact of a no-deal Brexit, in his capacity as a member of the privy council, and that the details were “sobering”. He told MPs:

The information shared with me should now be made public. It is sobering.
The first job of any government is to protect the interests of its people.
This government is wilfully exposing its citizens to risk, whether it is on job security, procurement of medicines, food supply or indeed on aircraft being able to take off.
We have to wake up to the impact of Brexit and the options that are in front of us.

Blackford also accused the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn of being “the midwife of Brexit” on the ground that Corbyn has failed to table a motion of no confidence in the government. Blackford said:

The leader of the opposition has become the midwife for Brexit.
The leader of the opposition is letting the government off the hook - he has it in his gift to bring a forward a no confidence motion that will test the will of the House and, crucially, will allow his party to move onto the issue of a people’s vote.

Wrong again, OG not only correctly forecast the referendum result but has from the beginning of this thread promoted No Deal as the best way to get Brexiters to understand what they'll get.

So far from being a slow learner, he's been far ahead of the game all along.

Petition

Leave the EU without a deal in March 2019.

We are wasting Billions of pounds of taxpayers money trying to negotiate in a short space of time. Leaving the EU in March 2019 will allow the UK good time to negotiate more efficiently. The EU will be more eager to accept a deal on our terms having lost a major partner.

STOP BREXIT

It's so desperately simple. The Government's standard response to these kinds of petitions is "The British people voted to leave the EU and the government respect that decision". BUT, the government themselves DO NOT KNOW the outcome of that decision, so how can they possibly respect it???

Tommie....do you work.....no deal will result in massive job losses....the UK imports a lot of product which we sell onto mainland Europe....that product after no deal will be noncompetitive after tariffs are added,it is just as easy to ship into Rotterdam as Felixstowe.
Agricultural products, have 35% plus tariffs under WTO,will only be sold in the UK but farmers rely on export.
'No deal' is not an option,as people started to lose their jobs there would be a blame game as to who caused them to lose work.
You may wish for no deal but those who understand these matters know that it is not an option,May is bluffing to get her deal through,Hammond wont let no deal happen.
KudosDave
