I'm surprised you are pleased to stump up the money to pay for this, and it is at the moment just another of his promises, something he tends to forget when they become inconvenient.
You will indeed find you should have listened.
Where's the money going to come from?
A magic money tree?
And of course this from the Living wage.org
"he announcement comes as research by KPMG demonstrated the scale of in-work poverty, with 5.2 million jobs still paying less than the real Living Wage. There are big regional disparities, Northern Ireland had the highest percentage of jobs paying below the Living Wage (23%) and South East England the lowest (15%).
You can not deny that this is a step in the right direction. Of course this will need to be paid for and that could well mean a rise in production costs and therefore a rise in what we pay for things. I’m happy with that and I’d pay more and some more tax to further this sort of thing.

The above approach is infinitely more credible than having Diane Abbott saying, it’s going to cost umptybazillionsquillion thingies, but don’t worry we will just raid people’s investments when we run out of money.

Of course, whatever Johnson does will not satisfy you simply because the person doing it is called Johnson and not Corbyn.

FFS OG what would you have said if he had announced he was reducing it ?
living wage rate:

April 2018: from £7.50 to £7.83.
April 2019: from £7.83 to £8.21: 62p/hour
April 2020: from £8.21 to £8.72: 51p/hour

Bojo won't do any better than TM.
If you are 25 and over, you are supposed to be able to support yourself and perhaps a young family.

Now stop using facts Woosh. That is out of order.

We, ve got to give Boris 3 years before judging anything... And leaving probably 10. So far Boris is making right noises and seems to understand position he is in. Credit where credit due, so far...
The question you should be asking is how is it possible to make bold promises when the outcome of the trade talks are far into the future?
And of course how trustworthy is a pathological liar to keep, or indeed not withdraw these increases if the going gets tough?
Anything Boris promises needs to be viewed with scepticism, he isn't after all a man likely to die in a ditch to keep his promises, is he?

You arent saying OG is negative are you Dave. Well go to naughty corner and consider yourself admonished. We just wont accept this. OG negative. Well I never.
Quite correct! I am always positive as everyone knows.
And when dealing with Boris if you believe a word he says, I'm positive you'll be disappointed and clutching at straws.

I thought that was due to Russian space men beaming mind-altering radio waves into our heads? Make your mind up.
That's an interesting theory you came up with there, is that why Boris suppressed the Russian interference report?

Correction, I didn't want Corbyn in power, just a referendum as I did point out in earlier posts his plans would fail too after Brexit.
Have you forgotten that?

I wouldn't have believed that either, the man lies about everything.
OG, before you had Boris and Brexit to show all this love towards who was target of your affections. Bet they are relieved about both. They, ll be looking forward to a peaceful new year.
I bet you were a riot to work with.

Errr, Wasnt one referendum enough. It's what caused all this. Feck another. Never voting in any referendums again. Once bitten. We will never get another. Ever.

The national living wage is to rise by 6.2% in what the government says is "the biggest cash increase ever".
The rise is more than four times the rate of inflation and takes hourly pay for people over 25 to £8.72 from April.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: "For too long, people haven't seen the pay rises they deserve."
No 50Hertz, neither Boris nor the government have done this. It's the employers who will be footing the bill and it will actually slightly increase the government's tax take.

And worse still, look at the jobs it will cost. Only yesterday I was listening to the huge scale of retail job losses in the last year as retailers struggle to survive in the high street. This increase in the living wage will cost even more jobs as it pushes more retailers to the brink, closing more shops.

This is one area where I agree with OJ, it should be left to the market. There are plenty of people who are happy to work for far less than even the old minimum, let alone this new burst of populism. They include large numbers who combine two or even three jobs, so for them the minimum wage in a job is an irrelevance. Their income comes from more than one source and can be quite high in total.

Not sure how that stance sits with your socialist views and support of JC? He was talking 4 day week and mininum wage of at least £10 per hour?
If a business can't support paying its employees a living wage it perhaps isnt competitive enough to survive?

Sorry, you can’t quote that, Corbyn said it, so it has to be right.

For OG everything has to feed into his negative narrative. So no matter what happens OG will manage to find the negative angle and express that and only that. He has to or his whole world-view would break down. It's called confirmation bias.

When you set a minimum wage you kill jobs. Plain and simple. It makes the politicians look good and pleases all the people on the left but the fact is you stop jobs coming to that area.

You also kills opportunities for certain groups to get any work at all - Down's syndrome sufferers (if we can say that) used to get all sorts of work doing very very simple stuff - because it was worth the while of certain empolyees to pay them a certain wage (as low as £4/hour - but for what they could actually achieve that was all they were worth) - many if not all of these jobs have gone now with the minimum wage requirements - and it leaves those still in work feeling like they're 'on charity'.

Where do the jobs go? Abroad - where people will work at market rates. Or companies (like Macdonalds) speed up the use of robots - because they don't cost so much.

Your use of words like 'everything' reveal your stupidity.

Nobody lies about everything. You're such a dork.
But with OG - he only sees black and white. There's no colour and no grey - it's either black or it's white.

No subtlety - no nuance - no complexity - just all black and white.

The man is a fool.
