there importing the eu in to the uk to bankrupt the country buy 2030 :p
Starmer has to call general election before end of 2029.
BTW, do you know how much we lost in selling fresh fish to the EU due to brexit?
27% decline. Starmer rolls over Johnson's fish deal and reverses the loss in fresh seafood sales. It's a practical solution. Starmer also gets us back in sharing defense contracts with the EU. Would you rather we buy American weapons with Trump holding the on off switch instead?
I can't bring my roses from England to France because of brexit. Starmer is fixing that too.

Trouble is that Starmer has no political nous.

He walked into a self created trap with the simple truth of now allowing EU fishermen into UK waters, only balanced by a complex-to-explain gain in our fish sales into the EU.

Our voters don't understand complex, they only see the obvious, even when it's untrue, such as, "He's taking us back into the EU".

I think he's about to make the same mistake over the Winter Fuel Allowance. Removing it completely was a terrible political mistake, never to be forgiven. Fully restoring it is the only way to undo that and minimise the harm done.

But he's only speaking of extending it to more pensioners. If that will be in any way less than full restoration to all pensioners, it will multiply the original mistake and he'll be taunted by it throughout any future General Election.

He learns fast. Taking away any benefit is much harder than put some more on the national credit card whichever party is in power.

He learns fast.
Nowhere near fast enough, the political damage done over nearly ten months since 29/7/24 by that WFA allowance removal has been immense. It will always haunt him as long as he is in politics.

If he fully, unconditionally restores it, the damage will be lessened, so we'll soon know if he does learn fast enough now.

Can trump destroy democracy in the usa? This guy draws parallel between the forces that created a lake and then destroyed it some later time.

Wonder where they were, and what these "licences " are all about?
Legit fishing boats have radio beacons, makes them easy to find..
whereas rubber boats...can't catch much in a rib though, hehe :)

While we squabble about fish and benefits and trump screams drill baby drill, China is quietly moving ahead, becoming the future (it has 50% ev peneration in motor market compared to 10% in us)

Those two boats are caught fishing without appropriate licence.
UK boats need to apply for EU fishing licences, which are issued based on historical fishing activity in those waters (e.g. proof of fishing in French waters between 2012 and 2016).
If you or an EU fishing boat want to fish on our side of the channel, you are equally required to hold a British fishing licence.

I am watching Farage on bbc2 atm. As interesting as his suggestions are, his figures are truly dodgy. He claims for example netzero costs 40 billions a year. Government's own figures are 5 billions a year. If you look at how hard it is for Starmer to save 10 billions a year on winter fuel allowance, which figures would you believe? Farage also claims that DEI hiring costs Government 7 billions a year. That's equal to firing 100,000 - 150,000 jobs in government 's departments. There are more examples like that in his presser.

Upon checking, planned spending on net zero in 2025 is 7.7 billion. DEI: 27 million. Both are significantly lower than Farage's estimates. I reckon we'll know if reform manages to do better than the libdems in councils that they control (10 out of 23).

the corporation is bankrupt gpd is above 100% as planned for the cbdc 2030.

net zero is bs not 1 war has been stopped because it will be bad for the planet the eu wants a 20 year war with Russia but no nukes as the eu isn't got enough.

but trump forked that all up. :p

unless all this green renewable crap is subsidised buy buy tax payers no one will buy it so now via statutes and acts will be forced to buy them buy law.

yet my local power station burns rubbish, the council fitted houses with solar panels in 2015 there not serviced or cleaned ever and 20 of them in my road the inverters are 6 years out of warranty and no one gives a crap if there inverter goes bang and burns there houses down and 2 have blown up already with smart meters fitted.

and no one wants to rent the 2 2 bed houses up the road with heap pumps as the electric bill is 6k per year you cant afford that on benefits as more than you will get on basic uc payments.

wind stops blowing and its getting colder you cant keep a grid running on that as it will fail and has and not as simple to turn it of and on again.

power generation wise the uk makes nothing and has to import everything inc gas wood pellets ect ect and have to import coal to power or steal plant when there is a coal mine 30 miles up the road.

the uk pays the most tax in the hole eu on everything and its only going up.

and when the fit tariffs end and export tariffs come in none of this green crap will be replaced as it does not matter what you use to make electric you still have to mine all of the materials and ship it round the world.

and the doctors want another pay rise now just to help along bankrupt the uk corporation plc ltd :p
