Broken battery help

Having connected it and assuming something is wrong on connecting ( user wrongly connected or marked incorrectly) the possibility is that it may be compromised. As it is only a cheap component I would chuck it in the bin and buy another one from a reliable source.
I have used several form Ann/Ann battery and all have been good with no issues, key is though connecting all up correctly.

The numbers along the bottom shoud read from left to right

10 9 8 ........... 3 2 1

The black line on the left that goes to the left hand pin should be red, and the red line that runs up the right side to - Battery should be black and so should the branch off it at the bottom that goes to the right hand pin and the box marked bat 10, which is actually bat 0.
