Can CST motor be combined with hydraulic disk brakes

Just seen a donor bike (Giant Talon 2) which might be good for conversion using a CST motor and controller from BMS.

However, it has hydraulic disk brakes. I looked into hydraulic rims, V-brakes and mechanical discs but never checked on this. Can anyone advise if there are any problems / complications ?

Thx.

I'm sure I've seen switches that are suitable for fitting into the pipe, can't remember where but I will try and have a look

Here's one option that may be suitable, I'm sure there are others but this will do for a start

BionX Press Switch for Magura brakes | enables motor cut-off even for hydraulic brakes

Gaah - I just let the bike go (there were only a few minutes to spare on e-bay ... it was a steal for £256 final bid virtually mint) ... but ... Hallelujah  as the solution means there will be others. It opens up the scope of nicer bikes quite a bit because a lot of the Giants for example seem to come with hydraulic discs as standard.

One of these days sometime soon I'll get the bike that's 'meant to be'

Yep - I sniped, but alas too hesitantly on my max bid as I was too busy sniping to read the thread update !!

Just seen this thread - something in the back of my mind said "beware" !!

Presumably I would have to change the rear brake owing the the need for a cut-off ? Sounds like other brakes are far easier to work with ...
Hydraulic brakes are a little more complicated than cable ones, but there's always something you can do to make them switch. I've bought some hall sensors to play with. As soon as the weather's warm enough to work in my shed, I'll do some tests to see how to make them work with a standard controller. Hydraulic discs are the best by a long way, so don't compromise on that if you want a nice bike,

OK that's a help - thanks. Will just see what I can get my hands on for a decent price - I would ideally like them if I can get something affordable which has 'em. Have been so focused on gear criteria I didn't pay enough attention to the brake options !

Regretting not bidding up on that bike as it was rarely the right frame size for me (lots for taller riders but much fewer mediums atm for some reason) - only thing is it was collect from Essex so would have been a right old trek (and a blooming fortune) to go pick it up and get it home on the train  - but no doubt others will drift along now it's January and Xmas / end of Jan tax bill deadlines draw closer
