See one of your priveous posts on this kit.The battery is lithium Ion and not Lifepo4. As soon as it first arrived i charged it for 24hrs then tried to use it, unfortunately it wouldn't work. We are suspecting that the BMS is faulty. Should the reading be 49.9v for lithium ion or should i expect more?
You seem to be going around in circles.if its a 48volt lipo battery it should read around 58-60volts hot off the charger.
Apologies, i had conluded the BMS was faulty thats why I started a new thread about BMS. I thought this will make it easy for someone with BMS experience to comment rather than read through my other long thread. Again sorry to complecate things. You seem to be going around in circles.
Its difficult to keep track of what you have done so far as there are now three threads started on the same problem.![]()
Yes, it is quite expensive to return things to vendor in china. So I am trying to fix it myself before I spend more returning the kit. I have set the ball rolling to return the battery but need to make sure all other components are fineHave you emailed the vender you perchest the kit from as it is new.
I don't have a 12volt battery, but when I use the milan battery 37v the kit does detect power on the thumbthrottle (red lights on empty) but i think not enough power to run the motor. Even when I operate the throttle the power doesnot cutoff with the sla battery(although not enough to run the motor) Will a 12v ac/dc adptor (300mA) work? How will I connect the two to get 48v please? The charger output voltage is 54.5. Since last night i left my battery to charge and the volts gone upto 50v now. Maybe I need to charge the battery for 1 week until it goes to 58-60v? Will the battery not work at 49.9v? the battery specs can be found here, is this a lipo battery or just lithium ion apologies for my ignorance 1000W Hub Motor+48V 12AH Lithium Ion Electric Bike kit on eBay.ca (item 390077459822 end time 04-Aug-09 10:14:19 EDT)Have you tried running the motor controller with another 48volt power source,
If you can connect your 36 volt battery (you have a Milan battery I think) with a 12 volt battery in series then try and see if the kit works, if it dose then you will no to look at the battery, bms, or charger.
Have you tested the charger with your meter to see its output voltage, it should be around 61 volts.
It's not so expensive if you use SeaMail for shipping back faulty goods. The downside of course is that it can take up to 8 weeks for them to arrive back with the vendor as they stick all the post in a shipping container and send it on a slow-boat-to-china. However, most vendors aren't in a rush to get faulty items back and will ship new ones to you before the faulty ones arrive back. I sent back a faulty battery charger a couple of weeks ago. The parcel weighed 0.5kg and the cost was £3.10Yes, it is quite expensive to return things to vendor in china.
