Cheap mid drive Cyclamatic alternative perhaps!

We all start somewhere. For me it was the infamous Cyclamatic from Sports Direct. Think I only paid about £400 with discount. I didn't want to pay the earth, just in case electric bikes weren't for me.
Mid drives were either not very popular, or too expensive, at the time I purchased the Cyclamatic.
Now you can't move for them and they're much cheaper.
This bike on eBay looks like a sensible entry into mid drive electric bikes.
It won't win any design competitions and the mid drive motor is brushed, not brushless. But as a first step into the world of electric bikes, this looks pretty tasty:

We bought 2 of these Vilus bikes which appeared to be good value for money. Sadly after 15 minutes use one of the motors burnt out. I messaged the supplier through ebay and was informed that seller was on holiday via an automatic message. I sent a second message after the sellers return from holiday and was told that I could buy a new motor for £200 from seller and that the traders T & C only allowed returns for 30 days. A very cynical ploy on behalf of the supplier as most of this time was taken up by slow delivery / holiday of the supplier - very clever as ebay / paypal won't help after this date. Found a replacement motor for less than £50 which is now fitted & working, a far cry from the £200 quoted by the bike supplier. I won't be buying from this supplier again. Really a very basic bike which is hard to ride without the motor assist except on the flattest smoothest surfaces. Save your money and spend more on a better product.

Those motors do burn out a bit too easily.

That bike has the same kit as what GNGebike have been selling for a couple of years.

As that seller used underhand tactics, he should be blacklisted.
