Managed to get a few trips to work in on my Wisper now and really enjoying it. :D

Maybe slightly OT, but I'm using Motion X GPS for my iphone, works beautifully, even if I do look like inspector gadget with the iphone mounted to the handlebars (according to the wife  )

Heres a link that the software gives you to a google maps version, I'm sure I'll be able to get it under an hour soon, although have to be a little careful on the narrow tracks and blind bends around Ferry Meadows. Still exploring routes though, seems to be dozens of variations to try, all within a mile or so of the total 17.6 miles.

I also just wanted to mention the Wisper, I'm really pleased with it, certainly has the range, power, looks and speed that I hoped, only downside is that I've had quite a few 'teething' issues and because I bought it mail order it was difficult to get resolved by the shop. Much praise to David and Norman at Wisper though, they talked me through and sent out parts to get it sorted.

Will post full review soon..

You've got to love your bike gadgets and that's just brilliant!

Now I want an iPhone :)

Wormy - that looks good, I'll have to give it a try, can you compare your current trip to the split times?

Winterdog - I got it from ebay, its an iphone specific one, there are lots of generic ones, but I was just a bit nervous about how safe they would be, last thing you want is one of these expensive toys escaping to the tarmac

Phil - agreed, I resist iphone for ages was convinced by all the marketing hype, although have to admit it is fantatic..

I use a armband for my iPhone as I can't trust myself not to forget to remove it from the bike when I go in a shop!

I have a Bone Collection Sport Armband for iPhone 3G seems nice and secure, such as this:
NEW BLUE BONE SPORTS ARMBAND FOR APPLE IPHONE 3G UK on eBay, also, Other Mobile Phone Accessories, Mobile Phone Accessories, Mobile Home Phones (end time 09-Jul-09 15:44:57 BST)
Which I just wear on my forearm.

Not sure why the call it Blue in the advert as everywhere else it's Black or Red.

It doesn't show much info for the current trip... It shows current speed, time, min/km and average. Furthermore it has a bar which displays a history of min/km or average speed.

See RunKeeper | GPS Fitness Tracking Using 3G iPhone for Running, Cycling, Hiking, Walking
Of course km can be changed to miles.

I haven't used it much for biking but typically I have just kept the phone in the pocket of my jacket and GPS reception has been fine. You can play music while using the program as long as you start the music before starting runkeeper. Furthermore it will keep tracking your progress even if you turn of the screen which gives quite good battery life.

They also make a pro version which speeks out pace during exercise

Hi Paul and thanks for your kind words.

We are cureently trying to encourage customers to buy their Wisper locally so if there are any problems they can be sorted out easily and quickly. We are hoping to introduce free labor on all warranty issues for the first year which will be covered by the retailer who sold the bike. For obvious reasons the bike would need to be taken to the original retailer for this benefit to be claimed.

Best regards and good commuting!

All the best David
