I went to have a look at a bike today. It had some corrosion in the main harness connector, which caused a pin to break off and jam in the other side, which means that whatever both sides of the connector are fixed to needs replacing. In this case it's the controller and the manifold on the steering head.
This is the second time I've seen this problem, and it can happen on any bike that uses this connector, so if you have one, pull it apart and stick some grease or Vaseline in there to protect the pins from corrosion.
The blocked hole is bottom left.
