Li-ion Battery for Milan 2

I have been lucky enough to receive a sample 36v 14 amp Li-ion battery and charger from a supplier in China, and am hoping to test it on the brand new Milan 2 which I infamously bought with a dud lead acid 36v battery from e bay earlier this year, Can any one please tell me how i can easily find which of the slots at the bottom of the Milan2 battery holder is positive and visa versa, I intend to wire the new battery into the bike which fits almost perfectly except for the position of the terminals. Any advice very welcome and appreciated,
Yours sincerely and fraternally

If you still have the old SLA pack can you either read a voltage out of it? or give it a little charge to get a voltage to register? or take it apart and see which terminal output is which?

looking from the chainguard side, its the left terminal. make sure you have an on/off switch on your battery and its off before insertion .

Thanks I will try it

Thanks 20 inch for the advice I will try wiring it in and seeing what benefits there are, can anyone else offer any advice in relation to this endevour.
Is it likely to improve performance over the original set up, and are there any pitfalls I can avoid ?.

Thanks in anticipation of any advice given
