Could be good with a hub motor

This bottom bracket gearbox looks good.

Wider range than even a mountain triple, all 18 gears evenly spaced, and a simple one to 18 twist grip to change.

What's not to like?

The price, probably, and I expect there is a weight penalty.

Although I saw an ordinary hybrid with this gearbox with a quoted weight of 12kg, which wouldn't be a lot more than the same bike with a hub gear, if not a derailleur.

A few German makes are already offering the 'box with a BionX rear hub for, if I read the German sites correctly, about 3,500 euro.

18-speed - isn't it a bit overkill? I wonder if a Gruber motor could drive this marvel.

Never fails does it, as soon as I have the bees knees someone has to trump it.
