There's a stand-alone version that will work on any ebike, it doesn't require a controller connection. Take a look here: The Cycle Analyst Homepage - Ebike Amp-Hour and Watt Meter and here: The Grin Cyclery (fourth one down is the stand alone model).

I have a Stand Alone one. You just put your favourite connectors on the shunt, fix the speed sensor, and away you go. You get all the battery info, speed and distace like that. If you want to use the speed limit or current limit and other similar functions, you have to open up the display and solder your throttle onto the PCB, and then solder throttle wires to your controller. Basically, you cut your throttle cable and solder the wires from each end to the CA.

Thank you both wiz adults for that xx. I am too scared to tamper with any form of electrical device sods law i may just solder those wires by mistake to the soldeing iron itself.
Can anyone with electrical experience do this minor job or any ebike dealer? And how much would this job set me back in pennies? CHEERS! again guys.

I'll solder on the connectors if you want to send it to me, or you can send me the money for it and I'll order it put the connectors on and send it to you to save one postage. I'd need to see a pictire of your battery to controller connections to see what type of connectors.

Did you decide to go ahead with this, mountainsport ?

Hope you don't mind me jumping in on this thread rather than starting a new one but wondered if anyone can give me the dimensions of the molded shunt that has to be wired in between battery and controller on v.2.3 CA ?

Can't find them anywhere and still waiting for this to come . I am VERY tight on space in my box using just about every available square inch (fuse box has already had to go as no space !) but really need to get on with making it so would be a real help to have the dimensions so I can make provision for it to be inserted.

Thanks. :)

They're very small, so you shouldn't have any problem - about 15mm square and abour 6mm thick. My V2 had nice flexible wire on it, but my V3 has very stiff wire, which makes it a bit more awkward, although you only need an inch of wire on each side. Haven't you got yours yet? I got mine ages ago.

That's a huge relief, d8veh. No, don;t have it yet. But I drew the line at $55 shipping by courier versus $15 by mail. Was from Canada so I'm sure it would have been here by now if they hadn't sat on the order for 4 working days before promising to ship it

The DC-DC converters and switch boxes taking up SO much space - and that controller is HUGE there's hardly going to be an inch of room.
