I saw there has been some previous talk about logging data from bike rides.

Does anyone have any suggestion for something for Windows Mobile and a Windows operating system.

Seems the one Daniel used was mac, a shame as it looked quite nice and easy to use.
I have a new windows mobile phone so i have gps built in, so its really the software i need, although i have found some dirty software that logs raw data which can be imported.

Thanks

In answer to my own question:

Here are two bits of software to look at your data.

SportTracks

MotionBased | Home

Here is something for windows mobile to log the data:

GPSTracka - GPS Logging Application for Windows Mobile

I have tested the GPS logging software and it works, and the SportTracks software looks quite nice.
I tested the data import and it works fine, it seems the data logged by GPStracka needs to be converted (although i imagine you can change settings so it works) using an online GPX converter, i will post up the one i used.

The Sporttrack software seems quite good as it can be used for bikes, running, etc...
importing the converted data works like a charm, and you can compare various details, like if you have a heart rate monitor and you have that data, and elevation and speed you can get a nice graph. Handy for those big hills, even on the way down for scare factor.

All up not too bad, i do find the windows mobile phones don't have very good gps reception generally, i was sitting at waterloo and i got only one sat displayed, i know when i use my tom tom i can drive around london with no problems and i only rarely get a drop out. I imagine the chipset on the WM phone is not all that great.

this looks very slick, i tested it, its great, hooks into googe maps, displays lots of info and its free.
plus you can upload your data as you go. i love it, you don't even need to do anything else with it really.
I am going to go for a walk and see what it does and how frequently it logs data.

Hi,
That seems very nice. Just a daft question, I presume these phones must have GPS built into them? Will the software work on a PDA with Windows mobile linked to a seperate Satnav receiver?

Most of these will allow you to use an external gps receiver as you will assign it a com port on the windows mobile device.

Here is a bike log for my cycle to the station this morning

Looks like the cycle app will add some features, useful or otherwise when its released.

I've just started using this and it's pretty good, it shows just how poor my average speed has been over the last two days. It's a bit limited but enough for me to work out the best routes.
Word of warning though, the default settings are for everyone to see your workouts and this means they can see where you live, where you work, what times you normally travel and know you have a bike.
