These are getting common where I now reside t'other side of Europe.
Supposedly have a range of 3 miles, move at walking pace and seem to stop at zebra crossings for ages before moving!
Quite a novelty though.

On the inner city terraced street I was born, can't see one of these making it from one end to the other without being kidnapped ;o)

I can't see these succeeding beyond the novelty period. They are too easily subverted in various ways. They'll suffer kids deliberately obstructing them for amusement, vandalism like tipping them over, theft of contents, hacking.

They can only be used when the recipient is in, no leaving with neighbours or ability to read a note on the door telling them where to put the item. For example on my 3000 home estate we each have an external cupboard for delivery people to leave goods and close the door, which then latches to secure the goods. They won't be able to handle that.
