Just wondering if anyone has built a long distance/endurance bike. Kinda thing I was think was a trailer battery pack.
At what point does the additional weight counter the added capacity.

Good question. A lot depends on how much power you need and how far you want to go. Tell us what your average battery range is and how far you want to go, then we can discuss solutions.

I'm only just installing my kit today. But was looking at a half a dozen 12v 120ah batteries that are due to go into my boat for a domestic battery bank and it got me thinking about a trailer full of batteries. Not really thinking about it myself at the moment but just wondered if anyone had tried

I would say that's a no-go. You can do about 50 miles with a 3kgm lithium battery. You could carry a spare on a rack, which you would hardly notice. that would give you maybe 100 miles. Could you pedal for that long?

You'd need a pretty strong motor, like a low-speed Bafang BPM to two three 120Ah car batteries (60kg - 75kg plus trailer weight) around, and your ride wouldn't be very pleasant.
