I don't think it is a crank drive, it look to me like it is a rear hub motor. Quite a weedy battery too.

Motor is in the rear wheel. 24v@9Ah is not going to get you far, the range figures are again unrealistic but for a runabout to the local shops and back then why not!

They're the same company as UK Battery Store offer cheap laptop batteries, laptop ac adapters, camcorder batteries, cordless drill batteries. They are known to my boss, who rates them highly for camera batteries and such. He lives near their unit, and they mentioned they were starting to sell electric bike to him some time ago. The website is awful though, looks like a copy and paste of an american website selling the same bikes.

I was thinking the same about price v longevity. at these prices and with a battery cost of £169.00 it may well cost in even for a year!

I notice, from the website, that they do a 9Ah 36V at £509.00 and at 23kg. My wife likes the look of the ride position. We may well be tempted just to use as a fill-in until the newer ranges arrive in the U.K.
